NOVEMBER AT HIGHWAY 56

MISSION 56

This Month:

November through December Highway 56ers will continue collecting food for Deacons’ Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Bags. We will also be making cards to put in the bags. The challenge is on between girls and boys to see who can bring the most food. There’s still plenty of time, so please encourage your 56er to bring in non-perishable food items!

The Deacons have expressed a specific need for canned cranberry sauce to put in the Thanksgiving Food Bags. If you are planning on donating to our food drive, please consider bringing cans of jellied or whole berry cranberry sauce.

Grace & Gratitude

Gratitude is an attitude that can affect every aspect of our lives. In November, Highway 56 will be talking about different aspects of gratitude. Gratitude is a response to God’s grace in our lives. 56ers will discuss being grateful for the good things and being grateful in the bad things. We can be grateful because God offers us new life in Him and because He’s given us power by His Spirit to live freely. If we can learn to live with an attitude of gratitude, we won’t just be thinking differently, we’ll be living differently. An attitude of gratitude can be an engine for good in our lives and bring contentment.
