New park benches, planters and picnic tables will help to beautify parks and schools throughout Iowa this spring and summer, courtesy of the Iowa Grocery Industry Association’s Build with Bags program.

Be a visible supporter of a great cause by registering as a sponsor for our 2021 IGEF Scholarship Golf Classic!
The 2021 Iowa Grocers Education Foundation Scholarship Golf Classic, presented by the Iowa Grocery Industry Association, will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Otter Creek and Briarwood Club of Ankeny. Both courses will feature the traditional four-person best shot event format. All proceeds from the day will be used to provide college scholarships for youth with ties to the grocery industry. Registrations are due by 4:30 p.m., Friday, June 11. (IGIA will follow COVID-19 safety precautions that are required at the time of this event.)

Sponsoring a hole at the Iowa Grocers Education Foundation Scholarship Golf Classic is a great way to gain visibility for your company while supporting a worthwhile cause.

The IGEF Scholarship Golf Tournament fundraiser helps to change the lives of nearly 100 youth every year. This worthwhile event makes it possible for the Iowa Grocers Education Foundation to provide scholarships to deserving youth with connections to the grocery industry.

As our community service part of this event, we will be doing a donation drive for the Young Women’s Resource Center. At the beginning of our event, we will learn more about the YWRC and what they do. We will be holding a donation drive for personal care items that they could use. You can feel free to drop donation items off at the IGIA office and we will deliver them to the YWRC.

You can see a list of critically needed items in our event description here. Please note that they only accept full-size and unopened personal care items.
Register by 4:30 p.m., Monday, May 10.

You will then be sent a Zoom link to join the webinar.

The federal government plans to send $103 million to Iowa to help families buy groceries this summer.
The funds are expected to help feed 276,000 Iowa children from low- and moderate-income families in the state, according to a U.S. Department of Agriculture news release Monday. The money will come from the recently passed $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan.

Two Southwest Iowa small businesses will launch soon, thanks to a loan from the Nebraska Enterprise Fund. The nonprofit just recently expanded to its neighboring state.
