HYACKS BACK AT MERCER THIS FRIDAY NIGHT

A matchup featuring two of the top programs in BC will open the 2019 season this Friday night at Mercer Stadium. Lord Tweedsmuir, ranked #3 in the pre-season provincial polls, visits the #4 ranked Hyacks. This will be a rematch of last year's provincial quarter final game last November when the Hyacks defeated the #1 ranked and unbeaten Panthers 34-16 at BC Place Stadium.

The Hyacks are coming off a strong effort in a Jamboree this past Friday Night at Sedro-Woolley HS in Washington. OLBs Pavan Kainth and Owen Stark stood out for the Hyacks defensively, while RBs Greyson Planinsic and Michael Udoh are proving to be a solid 1-2 punch in the offensive backfield.

HYACKS VISIT HUSKY STADIUM

Following the jamboree, the Hyacks spent the night in Seattle and attended the U of Washington vs Eastern Washington college football game. Prior to the game, the team visited the beautiful football facilities at UW, including the weight room, and were able to watch warmup from the field. Thanks to the UW program for an unforgettable experience.

JVs OPEN SEASON ON THURSDAY

The JV Hyacks will travel to South Delta on Thursday to open the season against the Sun Devils. Our JVs have turned in a solid fall camp with close to 40 players in uniform nightly. Eight members of the JV team attended the Varsity Jamboree at Sedro Woolley, with RB/LB Lucas Steele really standing out. Among the linemen, Nick Alvarez, Matthew Duncan, Dyson Glavas, Jacob MacCumber and Robert Preda performed well. There have also been some strong performances among the 22 freshman so far in camp, including Harj Grewal, Ilija Sladojevic and Max Butkovskiy. This is a very deep and committed JV team and big things will be expected from the group.

HOMECOMING, PRESENTED BY KEYWEST FORD, ON SEPT 13th

Homecoming 2019 is right around the corner, as the Hyacks will celebrate our alumni and our new school, with another exciting game. The whole community is invited to cheer on the Hyacks Varsity team as they take on the GW Graham, next Friday night, September 13th at Mercer Stadium.

The JBs fell 52-27 to a joint Richmond/North Delta team. Despite the loss, Kalani Pedrosa scored 3 TDs and Antonio Hageleit scored once. Milan Kos threw a pair of TDs and added an interception on defense. Marcus Lee, Dennis Hackman and Jack Kannt also stood out defensively.

PEE WEE
