The Hyacks will recognize their 17 graduating seniors along with their parents this Friday night, in a ceremony prior to the team's game against South Delta at Mercer Stadium. This is the final game of the regular season with first place in the AAA Western Conference up for grabs. The two teams will also battle for the coveted Kushnir Boot, named in honor of the late Bill Kushnir, who was a former head coach of both programs.
The Hyacks are coming off a 46-33 win over Belmont last Friday afternoon at Mercer Stadium. Michael Udoh and Greyson Planinsic again combined for close to 300 yards at 4 TDs, marking the 4th time in the past 5 games the pair has each rushed for over 100 yards in the same game. Sam Webb scored his first career TD and Mahtab Garcha added a major as well.
Jayden Kastelein started his first game and fared well with 30 yards on 4 carries and 4 tackles on defense. Deakon Young led the defense for the 2nd straight game with 9 tackles and Vishaan Narayan added 7. Garcha was named Player of the Game while Narayan was named Dairy Queen Lineman of the game. The Hyacks are now 5-1 in league play (6-2 overall) and are ranked 3rd in BC.

The JVs will make the short trip to Burnaby Lake Sports Complex on Thursday where they will take on STM in the final game of the regular season for both teams. The winner of this game will claim 3rd spot in the AAA Central division.
The Hyacks are coming off a close 28-21 loss to Terry Fox. Jairus Pagtakhan put the Hyacks up 6-0 with a 52 yard TD run, his first of 2 TDs in the game. Lucas Steele also scored for the home team. Other strong performances offensively came from Dyson Glavas and Nick Alvarez, while Gray Glavas and Max Butkovskiy were among those who stood out defensively.

The JBs wrapped up their regular season, losing to North Shore. Benicio Hageleit fared well in his first game of the season at QB, connecting with Rodrigo Franco on a completion. Kalani Pedrosa scored the Hyacks only TD, while Jack Turner was outstanding on defense with numerous sacks and pressures. Thanks to all of the players, coaches and parents for their efforts this season.
The pee wees clinched a playoff spot with a 30-6 win over Westside on Sunday. Ajay Meltzer scored 2 TDs, one along the ground and one on a reception. Lukas Lalji rushed for a TD and passed for one, while Nathan Hillmann and Nigel Derasp each added a TD. Nicolas Panesar intercepted a pass. The Black team lost 12-6 to North Surrey, with Koen Panesar scoring the lone TD and Archer Helme dazzling with a nice spin move on a long run. It was still a successful season for Black as they finished with a 6-3 record.
The Orange team lost 27-7 on Sunday to Westside. Kobe Marisigan found Vincent McCarty for a long TD reception and subsequent convert. Adam Zimmerman stood out on defense. Both flag teams will take part in the VMFL Tyke Flag Jamboree on Saturday at Mackin Park.
