It was another trip of a lifetime for fifty-five members of the Hyack Football program, as the team made its way to California for 7 days of fun, football and memories. The trip included: two days at Disneyland, and NFL game between the Rams and Chargers along with a day at Huntington Beach. And of course there was plenty of football each day, including a big win on Friday night in front of a big crowd!
On the field the Hyacks turned in a gritty effort in all three phases of the game, winning 22-9. Sebastian Reid electrified the crowd with a 92 yard kickoff return to give the visitors an 8-3 first quarter lead. In the 3rd quarter Broxx Comia scored from 14 yards out to put the Hyacks in front for good, 14-9. Michael Kingsley scored from 14 yards out in the 4th quarter to put the game out of reach. Defensively, Sammy Sidhu, Isaiah James, Yanni Angelopoulos and Evan Nolli all stood out.
Thanks to all of the coaches, parents and support staff who made this trip a great success. A complete wrap up of the game can be found here

Fans will get to see their Varsity Hyacks for the first time this season this Friday, Sept 1st when they play host to Scappoose HS from Oregon. The Indians are a perennial power in their state, having reached the 4A State Championship game in 2015. This will be the first time since 2008 that the Hyacks have hosted an American team at Mercer. Please note the 7:00pm start time.
Scappoose Football alumni include a pair of current NFL players: QB Derek Anderson and LB David Jones, both members of the Carolina Panthers who participated in the 2015 Super Bowl. Friday's game is the second of a home and home series, with Scappoose winning a close game in Oregon last season. The two programs are very familiar with one another, as the Hyacks have attended the Great Northwest Team Camp on the Oregon coast hosted by Scappoose 6 times since 2009.

Homecoming 2017 is right around the corner, as the Hyacks will celebrate their 15 year anniversary, along with another exciting game. The whole community is invited to cheer on the Hyacks Varsity team as they take on the Mission Roadrunners, next Friday night, September 8th at Mercer Stadium.
The pre-game festivities start at 4:30 p.m. with the annual flag football challenge for Hyacks alumni. Family-fun starts at 5:00 p.m. and features on-field kids' activities like the bouncy castle and football toss.
And of course, you could WIN a pre-owned Ford vehicle in a raffle, courtesy of Key West Ford.
The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. just after the game ball is parachuted onto the field by the B.C.Sky Diving Team. For those out of town fans who cant attend the game, it will be broadcast live on

The RCHFC Youth teams have been busy preparing for the VMFL season. Recently they Hyacks hosted our inaugural pre-season jamboree on August 20th at Mercer. The regular season will begin on Monday, September 4th with all of our tackle teams playing at Mercer stadium, in what we like to call Hyacks Football Family Day!
The Hyacks finished 3rd at the recent Knights of the Roundtable in Maple Ridge. Jacob MacCumber made some impressive catches, including a long catch and run TD from AJ Caspillo, and was also a force on defense. Jordan Baba had a big day with several tough runs, including a TD, and also stood out on defense with several tackles.
The Atoms finished with a 1-1 record in their jamboree last Sunday. Lukas Lalji took off on 3 long runs including a pair of TDs. Mateo Mcdonell also scored, while Amun Thiara caught a 2-point convert. Defensively Nathan Hillmann was a force, scoring on a long fumble return, and Nigel Desrap also made a number of tackles.
