HYACKS TO HOST NOTRE DAME ON FRIDAY
The Hyacks return home to Mercer Stadium on Friday night, where they will take on Notre Dame. Last season these two teams played a thrilling game, with the Hyacks staging an impressive second half comeback, only to lose on the final play of the game, 38-35.
The JVs will also play at home this week against Kelowna, in a rare Wednesday home game at 3pm. This game was originally scheduled for last week, but was postponed.
The JBs hosted their Friday night game against Westside, losing 13-0. The home team moved the ball well most of the night, but couldn't finish drives, while the defense had its best game of the season with 2 big red zone stops. QB Antonio Hageleit played his best game and Kalani Pedrosa continued his strong play this season with several good runs. Cormac Knudsen played well in the trenches, while Gregory Palmer was a welcome addition to the team in his season debut.
The Hyacks won their 2nd straight game, 31-18 over White Rock. AJ Meltzer and Nathan Hillmann each scored 2 TDs, with Hillmann also connecting on a pair of converts. Alexander Biniaris turned in a strong effort on special teams, particularly on the converts. Guido Catania and Lukas Lalji had strong games defensively.
Team Black made it 3 wins in a row, with a 18-6 over Coquitlam. Mason Smith and Alex Paterakis again scored the TDs, while Jordan Grant also turned in some long runs on offense.
