Prior to Friday's game the Hyacks will unveil a replica of the 2017 Provincial Championship banner that will be permanently affixed to the press box at Mercer Stadium. In addition, fans will be treated to a brand new scoreboard at mid-field (pic below). The scoreboard and new 30 second play clocks have been donated by Nash Dhillon of Nash Custom Homes and Ryan Beedie of Beedie Development. We thank them both for their support.
Mark your calendars: The 15th annual Hyacks Football Tailgate Auction - presented by River Market, will be held on Saturday, October 20th at LaPerla Ballroom. It is the largest fundraiser of the year for the football program. For more details on how you can get involved with this fantastic event, please contact:  Mary-Beth Philip

With a new season on the way, the Hyacks are looking for new volunteers in a number of areas: Assistance with Game nights, Tailgate Auction, sponsorship and much more. Please contact Tamara at and we'll get you directed to the right areas. Our program has always received a championship level of parent and community support, and we expect 2018 to be no different. Hyack fans will get to welcome back their favorite team this Friday night as the 2018 season gets under way at Mercer Stadium. And it won't be the traditional early season exhibition game, thanks to an expansion in the AAA Western Conference, Friday's showdown against Carson Graham will be the first regular season game of the year.

The Hyacks, currently ranked 3rd in the AAA Provincial pre-season rankings, are coming off a hard fought 28-12 loss to Liberty High School in Renton, WA. Senior RB Broxx Comia got the Hyacks on the board with an electrifying 65 yard catch and run where he broke several tackles. Kinsale Philip had one of the best games of his career, completing 12 of 23 passes for 201 yards and a TD, he also rushed 17 times for 54 yards and a TD and added 6 tackles on defense. His favorite target was Ajay Chol who caught 6 passes for 80 yards. Defensively Evan Nolli led the way with 8 tackles including 1 for loss.

The 2018 JVs will begin their season at Mercer Stadium on Thursday against South Delta. This will be the first ever meeting between the two programs at the JV level. A number of JV team members have had a very good fall camp and were rewarded with the opportunity to "play up" on Friday night for the Varsity team: Andros Dancey, Deakon Taylor-Young, Gus Oliver, Jayden Kastelein and Jacob MacCumber all contributed and should be key performers for the JVs on Thursday.
The JVs have won 81 percent (52-12-1) of their games the past 6 seasons and there is every reason to expect that trend to continue in 2018.

Homecoming 2018 is right around the corner, as the Hyacks will celebrate the new season and their 2017 championship, along with another exciting game. The whole community is invited to cheer on the Hyacks Varsity team as they take on the Abbotsford Panthers, next Friday night, September 14th at Mercer Stadium.
The pre-game festivities start at 4:30 p.m. with the annual flag football challenge for Hyacks alumni. Family-fun starts at 5:00 p.m. and features on-field kids' activities like the bouncy castle and football toss.
And of course, you could WIN a pre-owned Ford vehicle in a raffle, courtesy of Key West Ford.
The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. just after the game ball is parachuted onto the field by the B.C.Sky Diving Team. For those out of town fans who can't attend the game, it will be broadcast live on

Jaxson Domville was a force out of the backfield, juking and dragging defenders scoring our touchdown. Harj Grewal was all over the field making key tackles, big catches, and long runs.
The Pee Wees lost to Cloverdale 26-0, but after a slow start they improved steadily as the game went on. Benicio Hageleit ran hard all afternoon, while Kieran Courchaine stood out along the offensive line. Defensively Nathan Hillmann made plenty of tackles while Jailan Pagtakhan did a good job of containing in the 2nd half.
