HOMECOMING, PRESENTED BY KEY WEST FORD, THIS FRIDAY NIGHT
Homecoming 2019 is finally here, as the Hyacks will celebrate our alumni and our new school, with another exciting game. The whole community is invited to cheer on the Hyacks Varsity team as they take on AA powerhouse GW Graham, next Friday night, September 13th at Mercer Stadium.
The pre-game festivities start at 5:00 p.m. with the annual flag football challenge for Hyacks alumni. Family-fun includes on-field kids' activities like the bouncy castle and football toss. Our Alumni Reception begins at 6:00. And of course, you could WIN a pre-owned Ford vehicle in a raffle, courtesy of Key West Ford.
The game itself kicks off at 7:30 p.m. just after the game ball is parachuted onto the field by the B.C.Sky Diving Team.
For those out of town fans who can't attend the game, it will be broadcast live on
Hyacks Football would also like to thank media sponsors the New Westminster Record, for their support of Homecoming.
HYACKS FALL ON OPENING NIGHT
Despite posting more than twice the offensive yardage as their opponent, the Hyacks couldn't find the endzone enough on Friday night, falling 15-6 to Lord Tweedsmuir. It was a battle of two of the top 4 teams in the province and was played in front of a very good crowd at Mercer Stadium. Deakon Young scored the Hyacks only TD of the game on a 3 yard run in the 4th quarter. Greyson Planinsic led the Hyacks with 89 yards rushing. Pavan Kainth (8 tackles) and Owen Stark (6 tackles) stood out defensively.
