Gathering and Centering Song ~

"Those Who Wait on the Lord"

Those who wait on the Lord

Shall renew their strength.

They shall mount up on wings as eagles.

They shall run and not be weary.

They shall walk and not faint.

Help us Lord, help us Lord, in thy way.

Those who love the mystery…

Welcome and Announcements

Call to Worship and Land Acknowledgement

We are on O’odham and Hohokam land.

This piece of earth that we call Shadow Rock is Indigenous land. Indigenous people are not part of the past. They continue to share their talents and gifts among us, amidst ongoing colonialism and oppression. Their contributions and their historical care of this land are worth our acknowledgment and gratitude.

Land acknowledgement is a small part of supporting Indigenous communities. We have much work left to do. This statement is part of our best efforts to stand in solidarity with our Indigenous relatives and with all oppressed people.

One: Steadfast Spirit, there is no wavering in you.

Many: We come boldly, yet uncertain and unsure.

One: Spirit of Truth, you reveal what is true and what is not.

Many: You help us to see and hear so we’ll know which road to travel.

One: Spirit of Wisdom, your mind and heart are stayed on loving us.

Many: We set our hearts and minds to love ourselves and others, the way that you do.

Singing Our Faith ~ "We Are the Family"

We are the family and we are the home,

We are the mountain where love can be known.

We are the voices and we are the hands

For bringing peace to our land. (Repeat)

And in our family all are welcome,

Doesn’t matter who you are,

In our home there’s always room so plan to stay.

On our mountain where we labor

There’s much work that’s left to do,

And your talents would be helpful if you stay.  Chorus

And in our family every nation, Every planet, every race,

Everyone is always welcome to our home.

And with our voices let us tell you

That we mean just what we say,

And with our hands united, let us pray. Chorus

SHARING

Celebrations

At this time, we share moments from our lives: birthdays, anniversaries, works of peace and justice. We celebrate even sorrows and grief as part of a comprehensive view of life.

Celebration Song

We are one, we are all.

We are big and we are small.

We are one, we are all,

We are short and we are tall.

We share joy, we share sadness

We share voices all in glee.

Come sing a celebration song with me.

Sing a celebration song; sing a celebration song.

No matter who you are, come sing along.

Sing a celebration song; sing a celebration song.

Come sing a celebration song with me.

Invitation to Give

God is unwavering in giving to us, so let us give to God. Let us choose to bring our gifts with made up minds to foster and build the Beloved Community. Let these resources be used to steady the work of the Kin-dom. Amen

Word About Life -

I Chronicles 29:14-15

‘But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to make this freewill-offering? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you. For we are aliens and transients before you, as were all our ancestors; our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no abiding.'

Words for Mission

One: As we depart this space, let us keep watch and pray that we might not be distracted from the work of the Spirit, on behalf of, and for the benefit of, all of Creation.

All: Let us be unwavering in our openness to the promise of God’s love. Let the mind of Christ be in us all.

One: These are the times!

All: We are the people.

One: All of Creation is blessed.

All: May we love all and serve all.

One: May God be with you.

All: And also with you.

One: Amen.

All: Amen.

Sending Forth Song ~ "Peace Prayer"

Spirit, make me a means of your peace.

Where there’s hatred grown, let me sow your love.

Where there’s injury, God, let forgiveness be my sword.

Spirit, make me a means of your peace.

Repeat

Our time together continues! We're excited to be gathering in person for Coffee Chat this morning. Whether our hosts are keeping things simple or celebrating in a big way, we appreciate folks who volunteer to provide Sunday morning hospitality.
