Hybrid Worship
March 13, 2022
Welcome to Worship! Whether you're joining by Zoom or in person, it's good to be together.

Check out this "bulletin insert" for today's scripture and information about our worship theme, trauma and purity culture.
Have we experienced or witnessed harm from faith communities? How do we respond in ways that promote healing and wholeness, for ourselves and for those journeying with us?

Does our covenant's "sensitive and response" language have guidance for us in becoming more trauma informed?
Order of Worship
Adult Spiritual Formation - 9:00 am
You're invited to Spiritual Formation, in person in the Shadow Rock Multipurpose Room and on Zoom. All are welcome, and all of YOU is welcome! We are continuing our Lenten series this morning on church trauma and healing, with an emphasis on purity culture. This same content and discussion (with more reflection and quiet) is available Wednesday evenings in Lent at 7:00 pm on Zoom.

Worship Begins - 10:15 am

Welcome and Announcements ~ Pastor Ken
As worship begins, we pause to welcome and extend greetings to anyone visiting us this week! No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here.

Stay tuned to Shadow Rock news with Rock the Week, our Wednesday email newsletter.

Coming Together
One: God desires to gather us; her wings spread out before us.
Many: Her presence surrounds us!
One: The Spirit’s nature is nurturance.
Many: For the sake of our safety, she reaches. For the sake of our good, she moves.
One: God is our fortress.
Many: In this Spirit, we find both justice and peace.

Singing Our Faith ~ "Companions on Our Journey"
We are companions on our journey,
Breaking bread and sharing life.
In the love we bear is the hope we share
For we believe in the love of our God.
Yes, we believe in the love of our God.

No longer strangers to each other,
No longer strangers in God’s house,
We are blest and we are nourished,
By the love we all can share. Chorus

Although the journey may be rocky,
Although the way’s not always clear,
We will share God’s love a-plenty,
With all people far and near. Chorus
Celebrations and Prayer Requests
This is our time to share our lives:
celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries, words of kindness and works of peace and justice. We also share our cares, concerns and vulnerabilities.

Celebration Song

Singing Our Faith - "No Matter Who"
No matter who, no matter what
No matter where you are on the journey of life.
You’re welcome, welcome here in this place.
No matter who, no matter what
No matter where you are on the journey of life
Accepted, welcomed by God’s grace.
For we are family, meant to be, Purposed for eternity.
Born in love, from above; God’s community.

Offering and Invitation to Give

Mission Moment from the WISE Team ~ Shared by Liz Curry

One: The hungry are invited to feast at God’s table, where our mourning turns to dancing, our affliction is met with comfort, and our rejection turns to belonging. Out of God’s gift of abundance, we offer gratitude. Let us gather our gifts together and offer them to God in praise.
All: Ever Present, Life Giving God, may these gifts be used to pass on your peace, justice, and healing. Amen.

Word About Life for Today ~ Rev. Ken Heintzelman

Words for Mission
One: Beloveds, let us carry God’s peace into the world, offering the wholeness and healing we have received.
All: The work before us seems daunting. May we never cease to love and endure, encouraging one another always.
One: These are the times.
All: We are the people.
One: All of Creation is blessed.
All: May we love all and serve all.
One: May God be with you.
All: And also with you.
One: Amen.
All: Amen.

Sending Forth "Trees of the Field"

You shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace;
The mountains and the hills will break forth before you.
There’ll be shouts of joy, and all the trees of the field
will clap, will clap their hands.
And all the trees of the field will clap their hands,
(clap, clap)
The trees of the field will clap their hands, (clap, clap)
The trees of the field will clap their hands (clap, clap)
While you go out with joy.
(Repeat faster)
