GATHERING

Welcome and Announcements

Joining Our Voices ~
"How Could Anyone Ever Tell You?"
How could anyone ever tell you
You were anything less than beautiful?
How could anyone ever tell you, you were less than whole?
How could anyone fail to notice that your loving is a miracle?
How deeply you’re connected to my soul.

Call to Worship
One: In a world uprooted at every turn, come, beloved of God! Come for re-connection.
Many: Our hope and weariness are mixed together, yet we come, trusting who we are together.
One: The Holy One who led the community of our spiritual ancestors out of Egypt, yearns to lead us, too.
Many: God will not rest until our planetary family is rerooted, restored, and renewed. Let us prepare for rejoicing!

Singing Our Faith ~ "Free To Be You And Me"
There’s a land that I see where the children are free.
And I say it ain’t far to this land from where we are.
Take my hand, come with me where the children are free
Come with me, take my hand, and we’ll live…

Chorus
In a land where the river runs free.
In a land through the green country.
In a land to a shining sea.
In a land where the horses run free.
And you and me are free to be, you and me.

I see a land, bright and clear and the time’s comin’ near
When we’ll live in this land, you and me, hand in hand.
Take my hand, come along, lend your voice to my song.
Come along, take my hand, sing a song...

Chorus

Moment for Reflection
SHARING

Celebrations
At this time, we share moments from our lives: birthdays, anniversaries, works of peace and justice. We celebrate even sorrows and grief as part of a comprehensive view of life.
  • Introduction of Huy Ly and Prayer of Blessing

Celebration Song ~ "Circle of Friends," chorus only
Laugh (echo) Cry (echo) Live (echo), Die (echo)
Hello! (echo) Goodbye! (echo)
And God makes us a circle of friends.

Invitation to Give and WISE Moment
We live in a more than enough world, created by a God who
lavishes abundance. Today, we are privileged to join God’s
motion of generosity. When we add our gifts, God multiplies
them for good, and joy mysteriously rises. This is God’s will and way. May we be joined to it.

Offering and Offertory
LEARNING

Word About Life - Luke 9
John answered, ‘Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he does not follow with us.’ But Jesus said to him, ‘Do not stop him; for whoever is not against you is for you.’

SCATTERING

Words for Mission
One: May we remember, God has planted our lives and given us a song to sing into the world.
All: May this song be one of healing and hope, of justice and joy. And may this song bless our fellowship again and again as we journey.
One: These are the times.
All: We are the people.
One: All of Creation is blessed.
All: May we love all and serve all.
One: May God be with you.
All: And also with you.
One: Amen.
All: Amen.

Sending Forth Song ~ "Trees of the Field"
You shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace;
The mountains and the hills will break forth before you.
There’ll be shouts of joy, and all the trees of the field
will clap, will clap their hands.
And all the trees of the field will clap their hands, (clap, clap)
The trees of the field will clap their hands (clap, clap)
The trees of the field will clap their hands (clap, clap)
While you go out with joy. (Repeat Faster)
