Ah, summer. A time to celebrate the neighborhood in one of our great public spaces or stroll our part of Centre Street while shopping, enjoying an event, playing in a park, or just hanging out with friends and family. Keep it local here in your favorite neighborhood during the warm summer days and evenings because there is just so much to do.

 Main Street Activities
Enjoy dinner and a show at Teatro en el Parque July 19-21
Enjoy a great show, food from local restaurants, Latin jazz, and a sampling of merchants at our 6th annual Teatro en el Parque in Mozart Park. On the warm summer evenings of July 19, July 20, and July 21 Escena Latina Teatro will be performing the play Cumbia de mi Corazón by Toby Campion. The play is set in heaven with the protagonist trying to capture the heart of his wife. Toby Campion was inspired to write the triology to explore how memories are triggered by music as well as his love of cumbia music, which is based upon tri-cultural components. The play will be performed in Spanish with English subtitles projected on a large video screen. These are always great shows and unparalleled to have them presented so that patrons are able to enjoy them in 2 different languages. Even if you don't know Spanish, these performances are an amazing entrance to works in Spanish and should not be missed.
Prior to each show, we'll set up our Café en el Parque each night with tastes from local restaurants, local musicians, and merchants. Come to one or come to all and we'll guarantee that you have a great time.
In case of rain or inclement weather, the show will be held at the J.F. Kennedy Elementary School around the corner from Mozart Park on Bolster Street.
