For a couple of years now, we have been compiling history and stories about Hyde & Jackson Squares, highlighting activities and events in this great neighborhood, and informing readers about our approach focusing on Design, Promotions, and Economic Development.
We hope that this monthly resource continues to be informative and engaging for you. To improve this experience, we'd like to hear from you what you'd like to see in this newsletter. Tell us what you think by taking our
survey. We will try to revise future newsletters based upon your suggestions.

This Saturday, October 24 Plant Bulbs & Care for Our Trees
Please join us this
Saturday, October 24 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm to beautify our neighborhood by spreading mulch on street trees, planting hundreds of daffodil bulbs, and removing fliers and tape from street poles. We can only accomplish this with a strong crew of volunteers.
This is a fantastic activity to do on a bright, fall day and you'll really enjoy the look of the neighborhood (and smell of fresh mulch) when done. So that we have enough coffee, water, snacks and tools for this activity, please register with us by sending an email to [email protected].

Seeking Design Professionals
For Our Committee and Board
Hyde Jackson Square Main Street functions like other Main Streets organizations. We have 3 volunteer committees (Design, Promotion, Economic Development, Organization) that work on projects in and around our commercial business district. Additionally, we have 1 committee (Organization) that concentrates on making Hyde Jackson Square Main Street sustainable by recruiting volunteers and bringing in resources to help us respond to the commercial business district's needs. You can learn more about the Main Street model through the
National Main Street Center.
Our Design Committee has been working on choosing colors and designs for new artistic bike racks; has just completed a promotional portfolio to entice new and existing businesses to upgrade their signage and facades; and will be working on a map to showcase the the great retail, restaurants, and services in our district. Although we have a strong Design Committee, we could surely amplify our work by having a design professional help us vet commercial signage plans and other projects.
If you'd like to learn more about the great work that our committees do, please contact us. We'd be happy to sit down with you to encourage you to "try out" one or more of our committees.
