Building Wellness Assessment
Hygieneering's comprehensive Building Wellness Program assessment was conducted at this Chicago Loop High-rise. The focus of the Building Wellness Program is to ensure that this property provides a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for those who support the property's operations and for those who live in and visit the property.

The scope of work for this assessment included the following:

  • Indoor Air Quality Assessment- a visual inspection of critical building areas for poor IAQ risk factors, moisture evaluation for mold prevention, HVAC system evaluation and air testing for common IAQ parameters.
  • Water Quality Testing- sampling and analytical evaluation of drinking water in common areas for lead.
  • Legionella Water Testing- sampling and analytical testing of common area potable water source locations.
  • Environmental- including a visual evaluation for suspect Asbestos and Lead paint.
  • COVID-19 Review- facility preparedness

Our Building Wellness Program was conducted at this property to assist in providing a safe, healthy, and comfortable living environment for building occupants. A summary was then provided to the property manager of the conclusions and recommendations, where appropriate.
ERIC Post-Fire Incident Command
Hygieneering was contracted to conduct air monitoring and incident command for a post-fire multi-agency investigation of a commercial/industrial building. The monitoring of the investigation team was conducted due to the large amounts of chemicals that were involved in the fire.

Prior to the investigation team entering the scene, a plan was developed and executed to remove some highly toxic and reactive chemicals in order to reduce the hazards of the scene. The investigation took many days and was completed without any injuries or exposures due to the cooperation, planning and execution of all the team members.
