DOT HAZMAT Ground Shipper

Recently, one of Hygieneering's Senior EHS Professionals delivered a comprehensive three-day Multi-Modal Shipper Certification Course for one of our many valued clients at their facility. This hands-on, expert-led training covered critical compliance topics across three key areas.
Day one of the course covered DOT HAZMAT Ground Shipper training. Some of the important topics touched upon during day one were a regulatory overview, training requirements, pre-transport and transport functions, and security essentials for ground shipping of hazardous materials.
On day two, during the IATA Dangerous Goods Air Shipper portion of the course, an in-depth exploration of IATA regulations was provided, as well as discussions regarding classification and identification, packing, marking, labeling, documentation, handling, and incident reporting for air transport.
The final day of this 3-day course covered RCRA Hazardous Waste Management. Complete guidance was given on hazardous waste management requirements, manifest completion, land disposal restrictions, and handling of used oil, universal, and recyclable waste.

May is National Clean Air Month in the United States, an annual observance dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of clean air for our health and the environment. Started by the American Lung Association in 1972, the campaign now spans the entire month of May, highlighting both outdoor and indoor air quality issues.
Clean Air Month encourages everyone to take action-like reducing vehicle emissions, conserving energy, and supporting clean energy solutions-to help make our air cleaner and our planet healthier. By working together, we can create a greener, more livable world for future generations.

ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENTS AND COMPLIANCE CONSULTANT
- Working knowledge of EPA, TSCA, RCRA, EPCRA and IL environmental rules SRP and TACO
- 3-7 years of environmental consulting industry work experience
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related field
- Credentials such as a CHMM, 40-hr. HAZWOPER, 30-hr. OSHA
- Ability to wear and work in PPE (Respiratory protection, fall protection, protective outerwear, etc.)
- Knowledge of OSHA health and safety rules
