CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Construction activities continue along the I-15 corridor, including sound wall and retaining wall construction, paving removal, sign installation, bridge reconstruction, and other improvements to support a wider freeway footprint. Concrete barriers (k-rail) remain in place along freeway and ramp shoulders to create safe work zones.

What to Expect:

  • Daytime and nighttime work may impact traffic flow and travel time.
  • Expect intermittent ramp and freeway lane closures. Please allow extra time to reach your destination.
  • Drive with caution; watch for signage, construction vehicles, and crew members throughout the corridor.
  • Reduced speed limits are strictly enforced in construction zones to protect both drivers and workers.
  • Work may be loud and cause vibrations at times.

Construction will generally occur Monday through Friday during daytime (6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

and nighttime (9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.) hours. All construction is dynamic and subject to change. Please check the Google Map for the most updated closure and detour information.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The I-15 Corridor Freight and Express Lanes Project is a collaborative effort by the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in coordination with the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC). The 8-mile project from Cantu-Galleano Ranch Road in Jurupa Valley to just north of Foothill Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga will add express lanes in the median of I-15 to join the existing express lanes in Riverside County and add auxiliary lanes to improve traffic operations and safety in the vicinity of the I-15/SR 60 and I-15/I-10 interchanges.
