Traffic will be intermittently slowed throughout the project corridor nightly this week from

9PM - 6AM.

UPCOMING TRAFFIC SHIFT

FOR MCALLEN TO EDINBURG TRAFFIC

Beginning late July or early August, the direct connector from eastbound I-2 to northbound I-69C will be closed to allow crews to safely remove and replace the existing ‘McAllen to Edinburg’ direct connector.

A temporary detour route will be in place for approximately 8 months.

To access the new temporary route, motorist

will drive east past the interchange toward San Juan,
take detour route exit 147B, stay left, loop around at Raul Longoria,
merge back onto westbound I-2 and take the Edinburg exit to I-69C north

The reroute will be a dedicated lane, with no traffic signals. Dynamic message boards and directional signage will be posted to notify drivers of the upcoming traffic shift and to guide drivers through the detour.
