I-2/I-69C Interchange Project

Monday, February 10th - Sunday, February 16th

Nightly full freeway closure in Pharr

PHARR – The installation of overhead signs will require nightly full freeway closures, in Pharr, this week.

Starting February 12 through February 16, motorists should anticipate closures of the I-2 main lanes, in both directions, between Cage Boulevard and Sugar Road. During these closures, the ‘McAllen to Edinburg’ direct connector and ‘Harlingen to Edinburg’ direct connector will not be accessible.

Depending on the closure location, westbound traffic will be diverted onto the frontage road either at the Cage Boulevard exit ramp or the Sugar Road exit ramp, and eastbound traffic will be diverted onto the frontage road at the Sugar Road exit ramp.

The closures are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday from 8PM to 6AM, Friday from 11PM to 7AM, and Saturday from 9PM to 8AM.

PHARR – Construction activities for the I- 2 / I-69C Interchange Project will require various full closures throughout the project corridor this week, February 10 through February 16. Details are included below.

Eastbound I-2 main lanes

The eastbound I-2 main lanes between the Sugar Road exit ramp and Vic’s Drive, in Pharr, will be closed nightly on February 10, through February 12, from 8PM to 6AM the following morning. The ‘McAllen to Edinburg’ direct connector will not be accessible during this closure.

‘Harlingen to Edinburg’ direct connector

The ‘Harlingen to Edinburg’ direct connector will be closed nightly, February 12, through February 14, from 8PM to 6AM.

I-2 & I-69C Frontage Roads

Nightly paving operations will require full frontage road closures this week, from 8PM to 6AM, at the following locations:

• Segments of the westbound I-2 frontage road between Veterans Boulevard, in Pharr, and McColl Road, in McAllen
• Segments on the eastbound I-2 frontage road between Jackson Avenue, in McAllen, and Cesar Chavez Road, in San Juan
• Southbound I-69C between SH495 and the westbound I-2 frontage road
• Segments of the northbound I-69C frontage road between the I-2 westbound frontage road and Sioux Road, in Pharr

The entrance and exit ramps within these limits will be intermittently closed while construction activities are taking place.

SH495 underpass

Alternating eastbound and westbound lane closures at the SH495 underpass will take place this week from 8PM to 6AM.
