Nightly closures continue throughout the I-2 / I-69C Interchange Project corridor

PHARR – Additional full closures in Pharr and McAllen have been scheduled to take place this week for construction activities related to the I-2 / I-69C Interchange Project. Details are included below.

I-2 eastbound main lanes in McAllen

The I-2 eastbound main lanes between 2^nd Street and McColl Road, in McAllen, will be closed nightly Wednesday, September 25 through Friday, September27, from 8PM to 6AM. Eastbound traffic will be diverted to the frontage road at the 2^nd Street exit and use the next available entrance ramp to re-enter the main lanes.

I-69C southbound main lanes in Pharr

The I-69C southbound main lanes between Nolana Loop and SH495 will be closed overnight on Thursday, September 26, from 8PM to 6AM the following morning. During the closure, the southbound direct connectors from ‘Harlingen to Edinburg’ and ‘McAllen to Edinburg’ will not be accessible. Detour signs will be in place to direct motorists through alternate routes.

PHARR – Motorists traveling on westbound I-2 through Pharr, McAllen, and San Juan, and northbound I-69C in Pharr, should anticipate nightly delays, as mill and overlay operations continue. Various full closures and lane reductions will be in place for this work. Detour signs will be in place to direct motorists through alternate routes. Details are included below.

I-2 westbound main lanes in Pharr & McAllen

The I-2 westbound main lanes between Veterans Boulevard and Cage Boulevard, in Pharr, will be closed nightly Monday, September 23 through Sunday, September 29. The closure will take place Monday through Thursday from 8PM to 6AM, Friday and Saturday nights from 8PM to 8AM, and Sunday from 9PM to 6AM. During this closure, the westbound on and off ramps between Raul Longoria Road and Sugar Road will not be accessible, including the ‘Harlingen to Edinburg’ direct connector.

The I-2 westbound main lanes between the Sugar Road exit ramp in Pharr, and Jackson Avenue in McAllen, will be closed nightly starting Thursday, September 26 through Sunday, September 29. The closure will take place Monday through Thursday from 8PM to 6AM, Friday and Saturday nights from 8PM to 8AM, and Sunday from 9PM to 6AM. During this closure, the westbound on and off ramps between Sugar Road and Jackson Avenue will be closed. The ‘Edinburg to McAllen’ direct connector will not be accessible during this closure.

The I-2 westbound main lanes between the Jackson Avenue exit and 6^th Street in McAllen, will be closed nightly Monday, September 23 through Wednesday, September 25 from 8PM to 6AM. During this closure the 2^nd Street exit ramp and the entrance ramp west of Jackson Road will not be accessible.

I-69C northbound main lanes in Pharr

The I-69C northbound main lanes between SH495 and Nolana Loop, in Pharr, will be closed nightly, Monday, September 23 through Sunday, September 29. The closure will take place Monday through Thursday from 8PM to 6AM, Friday from 11PM to 7AM, Saturday from 9PM to 8AM, and Sunday from 9PM to 6AM. The northbound direct connectors from ‘Harlingen to Edinburg’ and ‘McAllen to Edinburg’ will not be accessible during this closure.
