It’s an Exciting Day!
At 3:00pm, the Initiative 2066 campaign will drop off petitions with over 427,000 signatures at the Secretary of State’s elections office in Tumwater. This virtually ensures qualification of I-2066.
This amazing goal was accomplished in just 45 days!
However, we are encouraging everyone to continue collecting and turning in signatures, as we plan to drop off a final batch to the Secretary of State at 4:00pm. on Friday. By the end of the week, we anticipate our total signature count to be between 480,000 to 500,000. At that number, I-2066 would achieve the third-highest signature count in the state’s history – again all in just seven weeks!
Again, I can’t thank all of you enough for the cooperation and support you’ve given to the effort! This truly has been a team effort that has included everyone in our coalition!
I want to personally invite you to participate in the celebratory events we have planned for this week:
- Today, at 12:00pm, a news conference at Mayuri Restaurant in Redmond (2010 148th Ave, NE Suite 160, Redmond, WA 98052)
- Today, at 3:00pm, turning in petitions at the Secretary of State’s Elections Office (243 Israel Road, Tumwater, WA)
- Friday, at 4:00pm, turning in the last petitions at the Secretary of State’s Elections Office (243 Israel Road, Tumwater, WA)
- “Thank You Celebration Reception” on Friday, at 4:30pm, at the BIAW offices (300 Deschutes Way SW, Tumwater, WA)
I know, given the Independence Day holiday, it might be tough to attend some of these. However, if you can make it, please join us to celebrate this amazing accomplishment together!
