NEW! Daytime Closures for Springdale Street Bridge Form Removal
The Southbound (SB) collector-distributor road will close between Springdale Street and Westminster Boulevard to remove forms from the Springdale bridge.

The daytime closures are anticipated as early as 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, April 24, and Tuesday, April 25.

Detours:
  1. SB I-405 off-ramp to Bolsa Chica Road → SB Bolsa Chica → Eastbound (EB) Westminster
  2. SB I-405 off-ramp to Goldenwest Street → Goldenwest → EB Westminster

Northbound (NB) I-405 will close between the NB I-405 off-ramp to Euclid Street and the NB I-405 on-ramp from Brookhurst Street to remove forms used for utility installation from the Ward Street bridge and to conduct concrete work.

The NB closures are anticipated as early as 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday night, April 24, and Tuesday night, April 25.

REMINDER! Cadillac Trail Closure
Crews will fully close a portion of the bike and pedestrian trail between the Santa Ana River Trail and Cadillac Avenue/Sunflower Avenue in Costa Mesa. The closure is needed to install a drainage system and conduct pavement repairs.

The trail closure is anticipated to begin as early as Monday, April 24, through Friday, May 12.

Trail Detour: Santa Ana River trail → MacArthur Boulevard → Hyland.

Signage will be in place to navigate around the closure.

Construction activity is anticipated for 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

405 Express Lanes
REMINDER! Crews are conducting utility work for the new 405 Express Lanes. This work requires intermittent nighttime lane reductions on northbound and southbound I-405.

Ongoing lane reductions are anticipated as early as 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. on weeknights and weekends, as needed.

Please be advised that this work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.
REMINDER! Crews will resume construction activities as part of the drainage channel widening in mid-2023. The significant rain has impacted the schedule.

Activities include:
  • Soil backfill, concrete paving, and installing rock and stone along the channel;
  • Final paving of the southbound I-405/westbound (WB) SR-22 connector; and
  • Sound wall reconstruction.

Crews may access the work zone intermittently along College Park Drive and from the WB SR-22 connector to mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur at night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Springdale Street
REMINDER! Crews are reconstructing the sidewalk on the northwest corner of Westminster Boulevard/Springdale Street. Activities include curb and gutter installation and utility relocation.

Pedestrian access is closed at the crosswalk of the northwest corner during construction and a detour is in place.

Construction activities are expected to continue from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, as needed, for approximately one more month.

Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Beach Boulevard
REMINDER! Crews are installing the permanent traffic signals at the Beach Boulevard and Edinger Avenue intersection. Activities include electrical work, installing traffic signal poles, as well as restoring the roadway.

Construction activities are ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and expected to be complete at the end of the April.

This work will require extended outside lane closures on eastbound Edinger at Beach as well as on northbound Beach at Edinger. The closures will be in place for the duration of the work.

Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Please be advised that this work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

Fairview Road
UPDATE! Crews will continue irrigation and landscaping activities behind the wall adjacent to northbound (NB) Fairview Road. This work requires intermittent daytime lane reductions on NB Fairview between McCormack Lane and the southbound (SB) I-405 on-ramp.

Activities are expected to continue through spring 2023, and will be scheduled 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, as needed.

Lane reductions are anticipated 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

REMINDER! Crews are landscaping the center medians near the Fairview bridge. This work may require NB daytime lane reductions.

The intermittent lane reductions are ongoing 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for approximately one month. The significant rain has impacted this schedule.

Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.
