NEW! Northbound (NB) I-405 Closures and Consecutive Ramp Closures for Joint Seal Assemblies

Northbound (NB) I-405 will close between SR-73 and Euclid Street to install joint seal assemblies on the I-405 bridge over the Santa Ana River.

The following ramps will also be closed:
  • NB I-405 on-ramp from Fairview Road
  • NB I-405 loop on-ramp from NB Harbor Boulevard
  • NB I-405 on-ramp from Hyland Avenue

The NB I-405 and ramp closures are anticipated as early as 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday night, May 22, to Thursday night, May 25.

REMINDER! Westminster Boulevard/Willow Lane Intersection Closures for Drainage Work

The Westminster Boulevard/ Willow Lane intersection will continue to close nightly to conduct drainage work.

The nightly intersection closures began Monday, May 15, and are expected to continue for approximately two more weeks, on weeknights.

Additional nighttime intermittent lane reductions are expected to continue through July.

UPDATE! Southbound (SB) Euclid Street Closure for Drainage Repair Work

Southbound (SB) Euclid Street will close between Condor Avenue/Mt. Washington Street and the SB freeway ramps for drainage repair work.

The SB Euclid closure is anticipated as early as 9 p.m. Monday, May 22, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 23.

Northbound (NB) Euclid Street will close between the southbound freeway ramps and the I-405 bridge for drainage repair work.

The NB Euclid closure is anticipated as early as 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 24.

405 Express Lanes
REMINDER! Crews are conducting utility work and installing equipment for the new 405 Express Lanes. This work requires intermittent nighttime lane reductions on northbound and southbound I-405.

Ongoing lane reductions are anticipated as early as 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. on weeknights and weekends, as needed.

Please be advised that this work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.
REMINDER! Crews will resume construction activities as part of the drainage channel widening in mid-2023. The significant rain has impacted the schedule.

Activities include:
  • Soil backfill, concrete paving, and installing rock and stone along the channel;
  • Final paving of the southbound I-405/westbound (WB) SR-22 connector; and
  • Sound wall reconstruction.

Crews may access the work zone intermittently along College Park Drive and from the WB SR-22 connector to mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur at night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Springdale Street
REMINDER! Crews began curb, sidewalk and signal improvements at the Springdale Street/Navajo Road intersection. This work required the existing signals to be turned off and replaced with four-way STOP signs.

Activities began Thursday, May 4, and are expected to continue through June 2023.

Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Please be advised that this work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

McFadden Avenue
COMING SOON! Crews will continue landscaping work on the McFadden Avenue bridge over I-405. This work will require daytime intermittent lane reductions.

The 405 Community Outreach Team will provide updates in future alerts.

Harbor Boulevard
REMINDER! Crews began excavating the columns for the I-405 bridge over Harbor Boulevard. This work requires nighttime intermittent lane reductions on Harbor at the bridge.

The nighttime lane reductions are anticipated as early as 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. and are expected to continue through May.

Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Fairview Road
REMINDER! Crews will continue pouring concrete near the wall adjacent to northbound (NB) Fairview Road. This work requires intermittent daytime lane reductions on NB Fairview between McCormack Lane and the southbound (SB) I-405 on-ramp.

The daytime lane reductions are anticipated as early as 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and expected to continue through May.

Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.
