REMINDER! Northbound (NB) Brookhurst I-405 On- and Off-Ramps Closed for Approximately Two Months

Crews closed the NB I-405 off-ramp to Brookhurst Street and the NB I-405 loop on-ramp from NB Brookhurst to accommodate the freeway widening.
The ramps were closed on Monday, Jan. 3, and are anticipated to reopen after approximately two months.

REMINDER! Nightly Brookhurst Street Bridge and Ramp Closures for a Retaining Wall and Utility Work
|
|
Crews will close the Brookhurst Street bridge and ramps nightly, for retaining wall and utility work.
The nightly closures are anticipated to continue, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for approximately three weeks, on weeknights and weekends, as needed.

REMINDER! Westbound (WB) SR-22 On-Ramp from Old Ranch Parkway Closure to Extend for Approximately Three Months
|
Crews closed the Old Ranch Parkway on-ramp to WB SR-22 on April 13. The ramp will be closed for an additional three months due to unforeseen site conditions, to address complexities with traffic staging, and to accommodate the freeway widening.
The ramp is anticipated to reopen in spring 2022.

REMINDER! Southbound (SB) I-405 Loop Off-Ramp to Westminster Boulevard Extended Closure to CONTINUE

The closure of the SB I-405 loop off-ramp to eastbound Westminster Boulevard was extended for an additional three months.
This closure will keep traffic flowing in both lanes of the existing adjacent SB on-ramp and will accommodate bridge construction work.
The new ramp is now set to open in mid-January.

REMINDER! Crews are working on the foundation of a wall along northbound I-405, adjacent to Almond Avenue.
The foundation requires an additional 15 cast-in-drilled-hole (CIDH) piles. Crews will use an auger to drill large holes, install forms and steel cages and pour concrete into the holes to form the piles. The work is planned to begin on the north end of the wall and will proceed south.
Ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for approximately one more week.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activity may occur at night.

NEW! Crews will construct curb and gutter along northbound (NB) Beach Boulevard. This work will require NB Beach to be reduced to two lanes between Center Avenue and the NB I-405 off-ramp to NB Beach.
The lane reductions will be in place continuously beginning as early as 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28.

NEW! Crews will be grading the slope along northbound (NB) Fairview Road adjacent to Wimbledon Glen Apartments. This work will require daily lane reductions between the NB I-405 off-ramp to Fairview and approximately S. Coast Drive.
The daily lane reductions are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Monday, Jan. 10;
- Tuesday, Jan. 11; and
- Wednesday, Jan. 12.

REMINDER! Crews are working on the foundation of the southbound (SB) I-405/SR-73 HOV connector bridge. The foundation consists of 8 cast-in-drilled hole (CIDH) and 35 steel pipe piles.
The CIDH activity includes installing large-diameter casings approximately 200 feet into the ground.
The steel pipe piles will be driven into the soil until reaching a hard layer of earth beneath the structure foundation.
Pile installation activities are ongoing and will continue 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and weekends, as needed, through Spring 2022.
Daytime and nighttime lane reductions on SB I-405, between
SR-73 and Bear Street are anticipated to support the work.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.
