Update on Utility Work at Curlew Drive
Curlew Drive will periodically close at points between Kidd Boulevard and Newtown Road between May 16 and June 2 for utility work in support of the I-64/I-264 Interchange Improvements Project. Visit the project page for the latest schedule update from Dominion Virginia Power.

There will also be periodic, scheduled impacts in the next month to traffic on I-64 west and I-264 east for utility work. VDOT will publicize details of those impacts when they are finalized.

The work by Dominion Virginia Power involves the replacement of four power line structures to further elevate a transmission line along Curlew Drive.

Homes off Curlew Drive will always remain accessible from the other side of the closure.

    Traffic Impacts
There are no posted speed limit reductions or scheduled interstate travel-lane closures. Shoulders along I-64 west and a portion of I-264 east are closed for construction.

Motorists are urged to put down their phones, obey speed limits and drive with caution.
