I-64 Southside Widening and High Rise Bridge Project

Scheduled Lane and Ramp Closures for Jan. 19-26

Contractor crews for the I-64 Southside Widening and High Rise Bridge Project continue to advance critical construction activities during the upcoming winter months. To provide additional opportunities for contractor crews to perform the remaining temperature-sensitive work such as final surface asphalt paving and pavement markings, the project team has been implementing additional daytime and weekend lane and ramp closures when temperatures are warmer.

Motorists can anticipate the scheduled ramp and lane closures below. All construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Motorists can anticipate the following:

• Alternating single-lane closure on I-64 in both directions from Bowers Hill to Shell Road (approximate mile marker 295) Jan. 21-28 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Alternating single-lane closure on I-64 east from the High Rise Bridge to Shell Road (approximate mile marker 295) Jan. 23-25 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Multiple-lane closure on I-64 east from the I-464 interchange (exit 290) to the High Rise Bridge Jan. 23-25 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Single-lane closure on I-64 east from the High Rise Bridge to George Washington Highway (exit 286) Jan. 25-26 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Single-lane closure on I-64 west from the High Rise Bridge to Shell Road (approximate mile marker 295) Jan. 25-27 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Single-lane closure on I-64 west from the High Rise Bridge to Battlefield Boulevard (exit 290) Jan. 25-28 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Overnight closure and detour of the ramp from I-464 north to I-64 east

Jan. 23-25 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists should follow the detour below:

• Continue on I-464
• Take Military Highway (exit 2)
• Turn left at the light
• Continue on Military Highway to I-64 east

Overnight closure and detour of the ramp from I-464 south to I-64 east (exit 1B) Jan. 23-25 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists should follow the detour below:

• Take exit 1A from I-464 to I-64 west
• Take Battlefield Boulevard (exit 290A)
• Follow the cloverleaf to I-64 east

Overnight closure and detour of the I-64 east off-ramp to George Washington Highway south (exit 296B) Jan. 25-26 from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
