Lane Closures

Oct. 9-15

Motorists can expect alternating, single-lane closures on I-64 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. at the following locations:

• I-64 west from I-464 (exit 291) to Battlefield Boulevard (exit 290), Oct. 10-13
• I-64 east from Great Bridge Boulevard (overpass) to the High Rise Bridge, Oct. 9-14
• I-64 east Greenbrier Parkway (exit 289) to I-464 (exit 291), Oct 11 (alternating, double-lane closure)

Motorists can expect alternating, single-lane closures on Military Highway in both directions near the I-64 overpass on Oct. 10-14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Full closure of the I-264 west ramp to I-64 west at the Bowers Hill Interchange, Oct. 10-11 from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Motorists should follow the detour below. Detour information will also be designated with signage along the roadway.

• Stay right to I-664 north | Route 13 | Route 58 | Route 460
• Take exit 13B to Military Highway
• Turn right at the intersection of Military Highway/Jolliff Road to continue on W. Military Highway
• Turn left onto the I-64 east / I-264 ramp (in front of Frank’s Truck Stop)
• Keep right to I-64 west towards Chesapeake/Virginia Beach (exit 15B)

Full closure of the I-664 south ramp to I-64 west (exit 15B), Oct. 12-13, from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Motorists should follow the detour below. Detour information will also be designated with signage along the roadway.

• Continue on I-664 south to exit to I-264 east (exit 15A)
• Take the cloverleaf loops at Greenwood Drive west (exit 2B) to transition back to I-264 west
• Take the left exit to I-64 west (Chesapeake - Virginia Beach)

Full closure of the I-64 east ramp to Military Highway (exit 297), Oct. 12-13, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. 

Motorists should follow the detour below. Detour information will also be designated with signage along the roadway.

• Continue on I-64 east
• Take the exit to I-264 east (exit 299A) onto I-264 east
• Take the cloverleaf loops at Greenwood Drive west (exit 2B) to transition back to I-264 west
• Take the left exit to I-64 west (Chesapeake - Virginia Beach)
• Exit to Military Highway (exit 297)

Full closure on Shell Road at the I-64 overpass, Oct. 10, 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. 

Motorists can anticipate a full closure of Shell Road at the I-64 overpass on Oct. 10 from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Motorists should use South Military Highway, Canal Drive and George Washington Highway to navigate around this closure. Detour information will also be designated with signage along the roadway.

Residents off Firman Street will be able to turn left out of the neighborhood onto Shell Road. All residents on Shell Road will maintain driveway and delivery access during this detour.
