Lane Closures

July 21-28

Alternating, single-lane closures on I-64 from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. at the following location:

  • I-64 east from the High Rise Bridge to Shell Road (approximate mile marker 295) July 22.

Alternating, single-lane closures on I-64 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. at the following locations:

  • I-64 in both directions from the Bowers Hill interchange to Shell Road (approximate mile marker 295) July 23-28.
  • I-64 east from I-464 (exit 290) to Shell Road (approximate mile marker 295) July 27-28.

Overnight closure and detour of the I-64 west off-ramp to Great Bridge Boulevard (exit 292A) July 23 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. 

 

Motorists traveling on I-64 west toward Virginia Beach should use the detour listed below:

  • Exit 291A to I-464 north
  • Exit 1 to I-64 east
  • Exit 291B to Route 168 south
  • Right exit to Great Bridge Boulevard

Overnight closure and detour of the off-ramp from I-64 east to George Washington Highway north (exit 296A) July 26-27 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Motorists should follow the detour below:

Overnight closure and detour of the on-ramp from George Washington Highway south to I-64 west July 26-27 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Motorists should follow the detour below:

Overnight closure and detour of the I-64 west off-ramp to Route 168 south/Chesapeake Expressway (exit 291B) July 26-27 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Motorists should use the cloverleaf detour listed below:

Overnight closure* and detour of the on-ramp from George Washington Highway north to I-64 west July 19-20 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. 

*Concurrent operations will be coordinated to avoid ramp closures along the proposed detour routes.

 

Motorists should follow the cloverleaf detour below:

Motorists can expect day-time, flagging operations on the Great Bridge Boulevard bridge (over I-64) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday through August.
