Lane Closures

Jan. 8-15

Motorists can expect alternating, single-lane closures on I-64 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. at the following locations:

• I-64 west from the High Rise Bridge to I-464 (exit 291) Jan. 8
• I-64 east on the High Rise Bridge Jan. 9-12
• I-64 east and west from Military Highway (exit 297) to Shell Road (approximate mile marker 295) Jan. 8-14

Motorists can also expect overnight, single-lane closures with brief, intermittent stoppages (up to 20 minutes) in the following locations. Single-lane closures will begin as early as 7 p.m. with full stoppages to occur between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.

• I-64 west on the High Rise Bridge Jan. 9
• I-64 east from Shell Road (approximate mile marker 295) to the High Rise Bridge Jan. 11
• I-64 west near Military Highway (exit 297) Jan. 12

Overnight closure of the I-64 west ramp to Military Highway (exit 297) Jan. 9-10 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists should continue on I-64 west to George Washington Highway (exit 296A) and follow detour signs to Military Highway.

Overnight ramp closure from I-64 east to I-464 south (exit 291B) Jan. 8-9 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists should use the detour listed below.

• Take exit 291A to I-464 north
• Take exit 2 to Military Highway
• Take a left on Military Highway
• Take the on-ramp to I-464 south

Full closure of George Washington Highway north on-ramp to I-64 east, Jan. 8-9 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists should follow the detour signage to continue along George Washington Highway to Military Highway and use the on-ramp from Military Highway to I-64 east. 

Overnight closure of the I-64 east off-ramp to George Washington Highway south (exit 296B) Jan. 8-9 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. 

Motorists should follow detour signs to Military Highway (exit 297) and take a right on George Washington Highway. 

Continuous closure of I-64 west ramp to Route 168 south/Chesapeake Expressway (exit 291B) beginning at 9 p.m. on Jan. 6 to 5 a.m. on Jan. 9 as well as overnight closures Jan. 9-12 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists should use the detour listed below.

• Continue on I-64 west
• Take exit 291A to I-464 north
• Take exit 2 to Military Highway
• Take a left on Military Highway
• Take the on-ramp to I-464 south
• Exit to Route 168 south/Chesapeake Expressway

Overnight closure of I-464 south ramp to I-64 west (exit 1A) Jan. 10-11 from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Motorists should continue on I-464 south to Route 168 south/Chesapeake Expressway and follow the detour signs to I-64 west.

Overnight closure of I-64 west ramp to I-464 north (exit 291A) Jan. 10-11 from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Motorists should continue on I-64 west and follow the detour signs using the Battlefield Boulevard loops to I-64 east and access I-464 north using exit 291A from I-64 east.
