Lane Closures

Alternating single-lane closures on I-64 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. at the following locations:

• I-64 east from Great Bridge Boulevard to Shell Road (April 24-26)
• I-64 east from Greenbrier Parkway to Battlefield Boulevard (April 24-26)
• I-64 east from Great Bridge Boulevard to I-464 (April 29 to May 2)

Overnight, single-lane closures on I-64 west on the High Rise Bridge April 25 from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. with up to two stoppages (up to 20 minutes each) between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.

Traffic shift on I-64 west from Bowers Hill to South Military Highway to be in place as early as April 22 at 5 a.m. Motorists can expect the following lane and ramp closures to accommodate the traffic shift on April 21 from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m.

• Alternating single-lane closure on the I-664 south ramp to I-64 west
• Closure and detour of the I-64 west off-ramp to Military Highway South
• Closure and detour of the I-264 ramp to I-64 west

Overnight closure and detour of I-64 west off-ramp to S. Military Highway (exit 297A) April 21-23 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists should follow the detour below:

• Continue on I-64 west
• Take exit 296 to Route 17
• Traffic will be directed to turn left onto Route 17 north
• Then turn left onto Military Highway at the George Washington and Military Highway intersection 

Overnight closure and detour of the on-ramp to I-64 east from South Military Highway

• April 21-23 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• April 27 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (April 28, April 29 and May 1 contingency dates)

Motorists should follow the detour below:

Overnight closure and detour of I-64 west off-ramp to George Washington Highway south (exit 296A) April 24-26 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists traveling on I-64 west should exit to Military Highway (exit 297) and follow the detour signs to take a right on George Washington Highway.

Overnight closure and detour of the on-ramp to I-64 west from George Washington Highway South April 24-26 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.



Motorists should continue on George Washington Highway south and follow detour signs to George Washington Highway north to access the on-ramp to I-64 west.

Overnight closure and detour of I-64 west ramp to I-464 north (exit 291A)

April 24-26 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists should continue on I-64 west and follow the detour signs using the Battlefield Boulevard loops to I-64 east and access I-464 north using exit 291A from I-64 east.

Overnight closure and detour of the on-ramp to I-64 west from George Washington Highway north April 26-27 from 9 p.m. to 5 p.m.
