I-64 Southside Widening and High Rise Bridge Expansion Project
On-Ramp from George Washington Highway south to I-64 east closed nightly, beginning as early as Feb. 22 to March 4.

The on-ramp to I-64 east from George Washington Highway south will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, beginning as early as Tuesday, Feb. 22, to Friday, March 4.

Overnight closure of off-ramp from I-64 west to Battlefield Boulevard southbound (exit 290B) from I-64 west, Feb. 21 and 22

The exit ramp from I-64 west to Battlefield Boulevard southbound (exit 290B) will be closed Monday, Feb. 21, and Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorists traveling on I-64 west towards Virginia Beach should follow detour signs utilizing Exit 290A and follow the cloverleaf to access Battlefield Boulevard south.
Overnight closure of CD lanes on I-64 west, Feb. 21 and 22, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Detour for I-64 west to Battlefield Boulevard southbound
The outside collector-distributor (CD) lanes on I-64 west near Battlefield Boulevard will be closed on Feb. 21 and 22, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorists traveling on I-64 west can exit to Battlefield Boulevard southbound by using the following detour.

  • Use on-ramp to I-64 east
  • Take exit 290B to Battlefield Boulevard southbound

Other Traffic Impacts

  • Alternating, single-lane closures on I-64 west between I-664 north/Route 13/Route 58 (exit 299) and Shell Road (overpass), Feb. 20-27, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Double-lane closure on I-64 east between Greenbrier Parkway (exit 289) and Battlefield Boulevard (exit 290) on Feb. 23 and 24, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
