I-84 TRAFFIC SHIFT AHEAD!

On Sunday, December 14, the Idaho Transportation Department will shift eastbound I-84 traffic onto the newly paved lanes in the center of I-84 between the 10th Avenue and Franklin Road interchanges.

This traffic shift will allow crews to demolish the final side of the 10th Avenue bridge.

Watch the video to see the new eastbound traffic configuration!

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Starting Tuesday, December 9, there will be overnight single lane closures (10 p.m. to 5 a.m.) on eastbound and westbound I-84 so crews can stripe, set up barriers and prepare to shift traffic.

  • The Franklin Road eastbound off-ramp and the 10th Avenue eastbound on- and off-ramps will close overnight on Sunday, December 14 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Eastbound drivers heading into Caldwell must exit I-84 at Centennial Way. If you miss the exit, you will have to travel to the Karcher Interchange in Nampa and turn around. Click here to view a detour map.

  • I-84 will remain open, but drivers should plan for delays and allow extra time to travel through the area.

  • All work is weather dependent and the schedule may change.

10TH AVENUE CLOSURES AHEAD!

Starting Monday, December 15, 10th Avenue will close under the I-84 interchange bridge for demolition work.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • 10th Avenue will close under I-84.
  • All ramps will remain open during demolition.
  • Traffic will be detoured to Centennial Way. Click here to view a detour map.
  • Access to businesses will be open, but the route may change.
  • 10th Avenue will reopen by Christmas.

SHUTTLE BUS AVAILABLE!

A shuttle bus will be available for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Plan ahead, slow down, and pay attention!

What's happening in the work zone is interesting and it can be tempting to look while driving by. Do your best to minimize these distractions and stay alert. Check out the project website and our monthly update videos to see what crews are up to!
