SH-41 Closures
ITD will close SH-41 under I-90 to begin demolition of the bridge.

Here is what to expect:

  • SH-41 will be closed on Nov. 14 and 15 from 10pm-5am each night.
  • I-90 will remain open and if access is needed under the interstate on SH-41, your detour will be to Greensferry Road overpass.
Construction Season Update on I-90/SH-41
The Idaho Transportation Department is reconstructing the interchange at I-90 and SH-41 in Post Falls and improving SH-41 and local roads surrounding the interchange.

This project will improve safety, increase capacity, provide better connectivity to SH-41, and position I-90 for future expansion.

From Fall 2022 to early 2023 ITD is:

  • constructing a temporary bridge over SH-41 for traffic to use during construction.
  • reconstructing eastbound I-90 and adding new bridges over SH-41.
  • adding temporary pavement to the median of I-90 to create a work zone for shifting traffic.
  • reconstructing and widening the westbound on-ramp.

Have you been hearing some loud noises during the day?
Pile driving could be the reason! Pile driving is a common method of constructing bridge foundations. To support the bridge, a steel pipe is driven into soil until it reaches a hard layer. The steel pipe is part of the foundation of the bridge. On this project, the piles will be driven about 50 feet into the ground.
ITD would like to thank motorists, residents and businesses for their patience during construction.
