I Am Going Shopping!!! 2/16/22

9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
Words, foreign and strange, erupted from my lips the other night that I cannot remember saying in a VERY long TIME.......................
In conversation with a dear friend I uttered the phrase, “I AM BORED!!!”
BORED is not something I rarely experience!! I live in a mental institution/hospital setting and, trust me, there is seldom an ENCOURAGING word or circumstance.
I have grow accustomed to endless struggle and strife-if not in my personal life but in the often phone calls and messages of others in dire need.
Just last week I was faced with the deaths of three beloved souls although I “only” had the honor and privilege of conducting one of their services.
I do not know why but PERHAPS it is the answer to so many of OUR PRAYERS but little Amanda has been sleeping, (at least not up and screaming) through the night and I have found myself SLEEPING ALL NIGHT, some BLESSED nights of 10 hours or more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am arising at 8 or 8:30 in the MORNINGS and then HAVING SO MUCH TIME during the day hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My bills are all paid, I FEEL GREAT, am walking 3-4 miles a day, losing weight, and all in the family are well-PRAISE THE LORD!!
I WELL know and understand fully how quickly things can change for the worse so I am NOT getting cocky or boasting...........................
I just find myself in this unusual condition called “BOREDOM!!??”

The Scriptures advise:
Hebrews 4:1-2 (KJV)
1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Paul was referring to the children of Israel as they wandered in the wilderness.
They, like you and I, knew the Lord, had experienced His Goodness and Faithfulness, yet somehow every time they hit another obstacle YHEY seemed to forget what God had ALWAYS done for them.
THEY could not figure out how to “REST IN THE LORD!!!”
I tell this true story about the person who I confessed being bored to-
This person just recently got the job of his life making more money than they ever made and the potential to make much more.
He works from home, has no idea what he is doing and what is expected of him but none of his superiors is or has complained.
God is blessing his socks off-LIKE MANY OF US-yet-LIKE MANY OF US-cannot figure out to REST in God's blessing and wonderfulness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So many of us, who have bore the pain in THIS life, find it hard to actually “REST IN THE LORD!!”
It seems so strange and foreign to have PEACE in our lives-for a change-AMEN!!??
WE wonder where the devil/wolf is hiding???????
This is why the Writer instructed us:
Hebrews 4:11 (KJV)
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Believe it or not, “it takes work/LABOUR to “ENTER INTO THAT REST!!!”
I close with a quote from another dear sister in the Lord.
She reminds the Lord every morning upon awakening with these words:
“Lord Jesus, I am AVAILABLE for You today IF You need me!!!
If not, I AM GOING SHOPPING!!!”
