I Can Make A Difference in My World
It's the fifth week of Freedom School! This week we celebrated the Great Day of D.E.A.R (Drop Everything and Read) with the help of 148 community volunteers. Scholars at Rama Road were up-close and personal with nature at North Corner Haven Farm. Check out highlights below!

Thank you to The Leon Levine Foundation (TLLF) for believing in the work of Freedom School Partners. TLLF granted FSP a $1 for $1 grant match for up to $50K. Any new Scholar Society members or increased gifts from current Scholar Society members (those who support FSP through their gift of $1,500 or more, the cost of sending one child to Freedom School) will qualify for the match, meaning the impact of your gift will be doubled! To become a Scholar Society member today please contact FSP Individual Giving Associate, Nancy Ralston .
North Corner Haven Farm

Scholars at Rama Road participated in a day full of outdoor activities at North Corner Haven Farm thanks to the generosity of The Dooley Family.

The Dooleys graciously invited scholars to a day of fun on their farm. Scholars toured the farm, learned about gardening, engaged with the friendly goats and even held newly laid eggs!

Scholar turned Intern
At eight years old, Caleb Vaughn started Freedom School as a Level II scholar. Vaughn recalls struggling with behavioral issues prior to entering FSP despite being a smart kid.

Freedom School exposed him to books, which allowed him to use reading as an outlet at an early age. He enjoyed Harambee! each morning as well as his encouraging Servant Leader Intern who he still keeps in contact with today.

Vaughn currently serves as an SLI for Level III scholars at Mount Carmel. As a Finance student of Morehouse College, Caleb enjoys teaching his scholars about financial literacy.
