This past weekend I did the first round of the NYC Midnight Flash Fiction Challenge 2021. Friday night, we were sent our assignments, and forty-eight short hours later, we had to hand in a maximum of 1000 words to complete the challenge. And then comes the waiting...
These challenges are so much fun, at least if you are out of school. Otherwise, they are not that different from English finals. I am always reminded of how much of a jolt of creativity I get going up against a deadline. That is my Holy Grail of writing, the jolt of creativity.
I hope it carried over to the MICRO FICTION in the section below. This week there is both a celebrity sighting and a fable.
I am out for supplies in METHOD WRITING, but I found you some never published poems that came out of car washing Layli Long Soldier last year that I hope you will enjoy. I also included a blurb about her spectacular poetry collection WHEREAS in the WHAT I AM section.
As always, I am grateful and honored for your subscription. Thank you!
