It is 11:05 PM here in McDonough, GA, as I am awake AGAIN with little Amanda. It seems she has got her sleep pattern out of whack and lately I have been up most nights ALL night with her.
I am doing something I have never done before!! I feel led to write this SPECIAL EDITION to my weekly sermon posting-maybe I can get some OVERTIME PAY........
That is a wry joke-NOT a plea for money folks!!! SMILE!!!!
As my faithful readers know, God speaks to me through music and tonight-at this late hour-I was stunned at what He said to me-ABSOLUTELY STUNNED!!!
Like too many of you, I have sat in HORROR all day as together, we the citizens of the United States and my overseas followers also, watched the debacle unfolding in the Middle East-AFGHANISTAN.
God be with the families of all the horrific casualties of today and God Bless The USA!!
Like many of you 2021 has been a train wreck for me as well as this great country and the people throughout the entire world!
Covid has devastated the world causing unheard of fear and death, inflation has reared its ugly head, Matthew 24 happening right in front of our very eyes!!!!!
I have personally suffered greatly as has my family physically and as Mama used to say:
“EVERYTHING IS GOING TO HELL IN A HAND BASKET!”
Whatever a “hand basket” is??????
Or As CCR used to croon “There's a bad moon arising!!!”
BUT, as I sat here-at this late hour-suddenly I remembered an OLD Gaither tune I have sang hundreds and hundreds of times in many various venues.

I did and how well do I fondly remember crooning that song, HUNDREDS of times, only tonight to realize more fully how true and truly comforting the lyrics to this ols song are!!
Perhaps you remember also fondly and perhaps you head is filled with this song that stays with you for hours and hours.
Beloved, I need not tell you that these truly are PERILOUS times nor can I even imagine HOW and If and When God WILL make “SOMETHING GOOD HAPPEN” for us????

This exact Scripture is what God spoke to me late tonight and I HAD TO get up and write this message to YOU-and me!!!
I NEED something good to happen to me-how bout you???
I PRAY it is more than merely wishful thinking tonight, but I do remember this happening to me 18 years ago.... and it COULD easily happen again tonight!!!!
Little Amanda was lying in the ICU, pronounced D-E-A-D by not one but two learned neurologists-she had NO BRAIN WAVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My wife and I were devastated and HEART BROKEN!! We had just buried her infant baby mere months earlier and now this?????????????????????????????
How well do I remember. It was early Sunday morning and I made the necessary phone calls to cancel the morning service and spread the “news” that Amanda was dead.
One of my last calls was to a dearly departed woman of God, Linda LaFever and when I told her the “news” she replied:
“Pastor, that is just the FACT that she is dead!!
BUT AREN'T YOU GLAD THAT WE LIVE BY FAITH AND NOT FACT!!!!!!!!!!!”
Mere hours later it was I that spotted little Amanda's movements in bed!!! I got the doctor's attention, and today she is still alive-eighteen years later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Has anything “died” in your life and heart?????
Perhaps that is equally “just the FACT!!??”
