A Note From Pastor Linda
Jesus returned to Galilee, filled with the power of the Holy Spirit... he was praised by everyone. He eventually came to his hometown of Nazareth... From Luke 4
Dear Friends,
I have slowly made my way back home to Hosanna. Many of you know that I had back surgery on January 16; a spinal fusion and decompression. I was away from church for a few weeks and have slowly made my way back, returning last Sunday to assist in worship and this coming week to preach. I have missed being fully with you! Last Friday I was given the OK to begin physical therapy next week, and return to "normal" activities, still taking care while bending, lifting and twisting (BLT!). Didn't know this- but the actual FUSION takes place over a six-month time span! Thank you ALL for the many ways you cared for me- in prayer, with food and phone calls. I LOVE my Hosanna family.
We have continued in this Season of Epiphany exploring Jesus' first words and actions. Last week, Matthew's Jesus as teacher and the Sermon (or teaching) on the Mount. This week we enter Luke's gospel and discover a Jesus who returns home. While my return is not the same as Jesus' return to his hometown, I can only imagine that he too was excited about seeing his family and close friends, while also perhaps being a bit nervous.
Lastly, a HUGE THANK YOU to the many who were able to help with the General Fund appeal last week. We received over $3900 of extra income directed to the General Fund along with regular giving and so are able do ministry, keep current on bills and repay the funds used from reserves. THANK YOU!
See you in CHURCH! I'll be there!!!
 ~Pastor Linda
