So grateful for our friends at First Presbyterian. Please help us spread the word about Saturday Sanctuary!

Thank you to our friends from New Life Community Church for helping to beautify the grounds at Respite. We appreciate not only the service but also the warm presence and care they brought to the task. If you are interested in being a companion at Respite, or signing up for the Meal Train, reach out to Jenny.

In the Shadow of the Fresco

"I Need A New Mind"

by Mary of YAWNi

"please give me new eyes to see, a new mind of understanding

please give me new hands to heal, new knees to kneel, new legs to stand on

and when i fall, let me crawl right back to you

and when i break with every mistake that i will surely make, please forgive me

and when they fail to treat me with love,

let me forgive them the way you forgave me

for i am not anything at all, anything at all without you

ugly and small, cruel

i am nothing without you...

but the mountain and the sky, and the sun and it's shine

i am all with you

i am all with you"

We are excited to welcome Mary Sullivan of YAWNi as our second performer in the video series, "In the Shadow of the Fresco." She describes the song as a prayer (lyrics shown here). We are grateful for all the ways that Mary shows up for Haywood St.

A witness to include the most excluded, Haywood Street not only welcomes every child of God–especially beloved siblings of every mental illness and physical disability, addiction and diagnosis, living condition and employment status, gender identity and sexual orientation, class, color, and creed–but we celebrate your presence, certain that the kingdom of God is coming closer because you are here.
