A handful of snippeteers said, "Yes, more short stories!"
"During this challenging time, it’s day-to-day for sure. My tools are daily morning meditation, prayer, inspirational reading, and journaling. The whole thing takes only 30-40 minutes. One mantra I use a lot is, 'chin up, shoulders back, heart forward.' Staying active (even when you don’t feel like it) helps a lot. Friends are invaluable!"

"We’re the pioneers! Think about it ~ our parents couldn’t tell us about anything like this ever happening! Our grandparents or great-grandparents maybe could have, but most likely didn’t. We’ve had a bird’s eye view of the world as a different place. I know everyone has felt at one time or another, '
Why can’t we just Stop the World
?' Well, it stopped and we were here to see it! The merry-go-round stopped, as did the music, and only the lights stayed on. It afforded us a view of highways that we’ve never seen so empty, birds we never heard before, time with our families that we didn’t think we’d ever have, and of down time we probably all needed but wouldn’t have taken without this necessity. It’s true that many people’s lives haven’t changed much - those who are still employed and those who never navigated too often anyway. However, some lives were effected very seriously and for those, we offer sincere blessings.
I’ve read something new and different every day and learned at least one new fact with each reading. I’ve been able to really write letters and send cards for friends’ birthdays, I’ve ignored for too long. It’s made me pick up the phone and talk to people I hadn’t reached out to in some time. I was able to connect with a classmate a few times before he left this world a couple weeks ago. And believe me, I was glad I made that first phone call, rather than just thinking about doing it! We’ve all had some bad and sad times along the road of life - what makes this time so unbearable? No, it isn’t, is it? We’ve glimpsed a world we might never have seen!

"It’s so easy to go up on a topic because you aren’t getting to interact with life as you normally would. Stay strong. I really look forward to your
SNIPPETS
, and I am sure others do, too. Life for us is so much easier than it is for those without money / jobs / food struggles. I feel so blessed to be as fortunate as I am. I take real hope from the story I read today about a police officer who was protected by protesters in Kentucky. People helping other people. Just people ... human beings ... nothing else. We are all someone’s child, isn’t it that simple? Maybe we can get there now. Maybe we are finally at a place where our better angels can speak to our humanity and we can remember who we are, who we should be."

"I cannot imagine what a decision Pietrina's husband had to make ... the honor of family at stake. Also since there was a hard earned, long sought-after job awaiting him in the new world.
I look forward to Fridays ... have to admit, today if I have been off for several days, the only way I know it's Friday is because
SNIPPETS
appears!!!"

"Air hugs (as our 3-year-old granddaughter says) sent your way!!! God is good all the time! Praying His comforting presence is felt. Sometimes we just need to be like Ferdinand sitting under the cork tree breathing in that sweet fragrance of flowers in the air, oblivious to our surroundings. Yes I need that, too! God Bless You.

"Congratulations on the publishing of
Italians in Baltimore
! After reading this week’s snippet, be assured you do not have 'writer’s block,' although I can imagine how you feel with all that’s going on. I am sure most of us share your thoughts on this topic and lots of us look like sheep and want pedicures. I finally got my hair cut and colored a few days ago but I still haven’t had that pedicure."
