Member Musing Blog - Molly Mayo Tampke, UWFaith 1st Denton

But I also knew I could help people who were victims of those policies….so my husband and I, groups from FUMC Denton, and friends of ours from across the country, travelled repeatedly to the Rio Grande Valley to help feed and serve our immigrant brothers and sisters.
In the last year, my heart has been broken again by our country’s rejection of families fleeing violence, political repression, and devastating economic circumstances. Let's be God's Salty Women!
Thursday, April 30th 10:00 am or 6:30 pm
Don’t forget to register for our next Soul Care Mini-Retreat when we’ll talk about Jesus’ request for us to be “the salt of the earth” (Matt: 5:13). While it's easy to understand why Jesus referred to us as light, asking us to be God's salt isn't as clear. Was he talking about being Morton’s table salt? Or something different? Starting with a discussion of the importance of salt in Jesus' time, we'll bring his request forward to how we still are the salt of God's kin-dom. Join us at either 10 a.m. or 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 30 on Zoom. After you register, you’ll receive a short reading and the Zoom info. Be sure to pass this on to others. Register now.
