Hello Fall and Hello Friends!
My end of summer photo taken in my back yard. It was a quiet evening on Swan River and I was lucky to capture the nearly extinct and indigenous bird of Bigfork!
Our market is doing fairly amazing things. Bigfork is thriving with new and high end boutiques and cool places to hang out. The condo and townhome market (after years of being fairly flat) is booming, particularly the higher end units. If a property has something special, folks are snapping it up.
I know the mortgage rates are on people's minds; however there is hope ahead. According to Fannie Mae, fixed rates are predicted to go down to the 4s by 2023. I think Northwestern Montana is still preferred for people who have all kinds of dreams and some flexibility. Whether you want to build a business, build a family, create a job or work remotely, this is a special and perfect place to be.
If you are are looking to sell or buy a property, I have a myriad of resources and a great team. Our experience, consistent record and excellent negotiating skills will successfully lead you toward a sale at the right price or help you find the perfect home. The Lang Team is here to make your real estate dreams come true whatever they are, wherever you are.
Another perk for you, as a luxury home seller, is our exclusive membership in Forbes Global Properties. What does this mean? When you list your luxury, high end property, your home will be opened up to the international market. Click here to view Bigfork properties on the Forbes website providing access to the entire Forbes network. Here's another advantage. Maybe you have always wanted to have a home in Florida, France, Hawaii or the place of your dreams. I can use my Forbes Global Properties referral network to connect you with an expert and knowledgeable Realtor in many national and international markets. Let's talk!
From our home to yours, we hope that all your dreams come true in Montana!

As Ceri says...
John and I very much enjoy the firepit on the deck. It warms up our September evenings.
Fall means my people are going to be inside cooking delicious things and I will be able to romp in the falling leaves and eventually the snow! The four seasons introduce many changes to us. Most evident are the precipitation and temperature differences. We react to these seasonal shifts to boost our chances of survival, so I will be waiting by the stove to catch the "drops."
Here's more information on what seasonal changes mean for your pets. (click here)

Denise's Cooking Corner - Scallops with Pesto Cream Sauce
|
|
This delicious scallop dish only takes a few minutes to make. I like to serve with a crusty piece of Blu’s bread. I have also included my changes from the original recipe. Pair with a lovely Albariño.
INGREDIENTS
1 pound scallops
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter
3 or more tablespoons pesto
3 or more tablespoon capers
Start with 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream and add more if desired.
DIRECTIONS
Season scallops with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour.
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and add scallops.
Cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side. Add pesto and capers; mix well. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and serve.

“Hate the sin but love the sinner.”
Domestic Violence is often presented in black and white yet it is a series of situations on a continuum. As a domestic violence counselor, Halperin knows the subject matter first hand. Something Wild is her debut novel. It tells a story of two adult sisters who go home to visit their mother and find out that she is in an abusive marriage. The discovery stirs up memories of a traumatic event that happened in their teenage past that they have yet to confront.
The story flips back and forth between the conflicts and perspectives of the three women—past and present. It encompasses the intermingled relationships between mothers, daughters, sisters, divorce and loneliness within the shroud of family violence. Yet despite the strife and complications, the sisters are experiencing, there is a shared sense of closeness, levity and intimacy that bubbles through.
Halperin's writing was shaped by her work with partners who have been subjected to family violence. Something Wild spoke to me with a power of truth from the view of someone who has been deeply involved in family drama.
