Dear Friends,
Every once in a while, I’m left speechless.
It doesn’t happen often, but it did the other day when I interviewed a group of young women from Thomas Jefferson High School who are traveling to Japan this July for an immersive exchange program. This is a remarkable group. Mai, Kay, Makayla, Yasmin, and Leyna are pictured above and have taken Japanese language and cultural enrichment classes for years from Educator (Sensei) Kyler Jackson. Wow, just wow.
Like you, I’m sometimes overwhelmed by work, the news, and personal obligations. My to‑do list is long. But when I meet the students we’re helping travel, everything snaps into focus. I feel energized and purposeful. What the DCIS Foundation does is important work.
At the upcoming Gala, you’ll meet some of these students. Hearing their voices and learning about their goals and dreams is impressive. Trust me, we’re in excellent hands if the students we support are leading us forward.
If you haven’t bought Gala tickets yet, please do so soon because seats are going fast. Information is below. We have an amazing evening planned, and your support is critical to keep our mission alive and enable more DPS students to travel as part of their education.
Best,
