Dear valued partners and friends,

Warm greetings from Cambodia!

Months ago, I joined a local Dhammayietra walk — a peace pilgrimage that weaves through quiet pagodas, rice fields, and small villages. We began before sunrise, barefoot, each step slow and deliberate. By the time we reached the next temple, I realised it wasn’t about how far we walked, but how much lighter we felt.

That’s the essence of wellness in Cambodia — it isn’t something you check into, but something that unfolds as you reconnect with the world around you.

In this October edition, we spotlight a transformative cultural experience in Phnom Penh, the 2 Faces of Life Walking Tour, where travellers explore the city’s contrasts and end their journey with mindful relaxation. We’re also sharing major national updates, from the grand opening of Techo International Airport (KTI) to new regional flight connections and exclusive resort offers.

May this month’s stories inspire journeys that heal from the inside out.

Tŏu’ aôy ban sŏk, have a great journey!

Yours,

Villy

🧘‍♀️ Spiritual Wellness in the City: The 2 Faces of Life Walking Tour

I’ve done the 2 Faces of Life Walking Tour more times than I can count — and yet, each time, it humbles me in a new way. Phnom Penh’s rhythm can be intense: a city in constant motion, where ambition and resilience coexist at every corner. This walk, however, slows everything down.

It begins in places many travellers never see — narrow alleys where families rebuild their lives with quiet strength, children chase footballs made from plastic bags, and hope takes the form of shared laughter. From there, we cross into another world of polished cafés, glass towers, and designer boutiques. It’s a contrast so sharp it makes you pause — not out of pity, but quiet introspection.

Along the way, we meet locals, explore traditional Khmer craft workshops and social enterprises, and visit an English learning centre that supports underprivileged children. By the end of the tour, as I settle into a Khmer massage at La Rose Suites, I’m reminded of why I keep coming back: perspective isn’t gained by avoiding contrasts — it’s shaped by walking through them.

For me, the 2 Faces of Life tour isn’t just about social awareness. It’s a quiet lesson in grounding — a form of spiritual wellness that asks you to slow down, to listen, and to truly see a destination’s heart beyond its skyline. And somewhere in that stillness, hope reveals itself — not as an idea, but as something lived and shared every day.

✈️ Country Updates: Techo International Airport (KTI) Now Open

As of last month, Phnom Penh’s new Techo International Airport (IATA: KTI) has assumed all commercial flight operations, replacing the former Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH).

What This Means for Travellers:

  • Location & Access: Located in Kandal Province, approximately 20–30 km south of central Phnom Penh. Travel time typically ranges from 40 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic.

  • Transfer Logistics: We have fully coordinated all ground transfer arrangements. Under normal conditions, travel times remain comparable — and may even improve — thanks to reduced congestion.

  • Airline Operations: All carriers have transitioned their Phnom Penh flights to KTI. Flight schedules, ground handling, and route operations continue seamlessly.

Techo International represents Cambodia’s next chapter — combining modern design, enhanced passenger capacity, and a smoother arrival experience.

🚍 Airport Express Bus: New Connection Between KTI and the City

The Phnom Penh City Bus Authority has announced the launch of its new Airport Express Bus service, providing safe, convenient, and affordable transport between central Phnom Penh and Techo International Airport.

Operating Hours: Daily, from 05:30 to 23:30

Route Highlights: Links KTI to key urban hubs including:

  • Canadia Park (Royal Railway Station)
  • Royal University of Law and Economics
  • BRED Bank, Samdech Techo Hun Sen Boulevard (60m Road)
  • AEON Meanchey Mall

This initiative reflects the city’s ongoing efforts to enhance public transport, reduce congestion, and promote sustainable mobility for both locals and visitors.
