IABC India Conclave 2017 was inaugurated with a welcome speech by
Subhamoy Das, President of IABC's India Chapter with the commitment of setting the standard of excellence for
professional communicators by improving organizational effectiveness through strategic communication and professional development,
while creating invaluable business connections and lifelong friendships, and what it means to be
part of the world’s largest global network of communicators.

In her maiden visit to India,
Sharon Hunter, Global Chair, International Executive Board, IABC, was the guest of honor in IABC India Conclave 2017. In her keynote address, she spoke about the role of new trends and technologies, such as artificial intelligence and robotics in communications, the challenges professionals across industries are facing, and the future of communications profession.

In every organization, communication campaigns generate a lot of data from which we try to figure out the effectiveness of our methodologies.
Aseem Sood, CEO, IRMPL, showed us how to effectively sift through huge data, and pick up the ones which really mean something to our business. He rightly explained why faster data is not better data, and we should look for quality in data, rather than quantity.

ABC moderated a panel discussion on 'Ethics in Communication' in which
Ajay Arora, Channel PR Lead, Dell EMC, APJ,
Ishteyaque Amjad, VP, PR & Communications, Coca Cola India & SW Asia,
Shubho Sengupta, well-known Digital Brand Strategist, and
Zeenat Khan, VP, Corporate Communications, Housing.com discussed the growing menace of fake news and how they have managed to handle negative publicity of their brand with real-life examples, and tips on crisis communication.

Radhika Aggarwal, Co-founder and CBO, ShopClues.com, and
Amith Prabhu, Founder,
Reputation Today, engaged in a conversation on preserving corporate reputation in today's digitally advanced world. Radhika explained how companies need to be proactive to manage any uproar on digital media involving the brand. She also shared her story of building a billion dollar ecommerce start-up.

FUSION 2017, Singapore: Leadership Institute
|

Ashwani Singla, Vice President, IABC India, delivered a
Rapido session in the
Leadership Institute at
Fusion 2017 held in Singapore from 23-25 August 2017. He spoke about how IABC India is mapping new a growth plan for itself for the current year and highlighted the recent activities and initiatives undertaken by the India Chapter. He also delivered a talk on
"Science-based Reputation Management", where he explained how his firm plays an advisory role for its clients based on analytics and the 'science of reputation.'
