IACM 2023 is Around the Corner
Good day, IACM Conference Attendees.

We can't wait to see you all at our long-awaited, highly anticipated conference in Thessaloniki. The Makedonia Palace Hotel will be a fantastic host for our conference.

This email is to provide a brief insight into the conference program and some of the key events. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact IACM Executive Director Brandon Charpied (brandon@iafcm.org) or Program Chair Nick Hays (hays@broad.msu.edu). We will both be more than happy to assist you with any questions you may have.
Conference Programs
As a reminder, we provide two online conference programs. As of 2019 we no longer provide print program booklets. Please bookmark each of the following programs. QR codes to provide program access will also be present around the conference rooms.

Full Program: This is a grid-style layout that provides you up front information of authors and their institutions. Clicking on any hyperlinked session will give you additional information such as keywords, topic, and author contact information. This program also has an itinerary builder – by clicking the boxes you can build out your program and then download a customized calendar file at the bottom of the page. Please note that Apple devices sometimes struggle with the time zones set for these calendar downloads. Double-check to make sure your downloaded times are accurate!

Mobile Program: We recommend you use the Mobile Program once on campus. This program operates as if it were a downloaded standalone app but runs directly from your browser - no download required! Just like the Full Program, the Mobile App has a built-in itinerary builder – simply tap the boxes of the sessions you wish to attend and each time you come back to this program they will already be highlighted for you. It is touchscreen enabled, but also works on a laptop and desktop with standard point-and-click usage. This program also allows us to provide you with additional information via its “About” pages, as well as providing an index and search function for papers and authors. Clicking on any paper title will provide you additional information such as keywords, topic, session format, and author contact information. Click this link, bookmark the URL, and you’re all set for IACM 2023! Please note that the Mobile Program's additional pages (i.e. "About") will be built out by early July.
Conference Check-in
3:30pm - 7:00pm in Ballroom Foyer
Attendees may check in for the conference beginning at 3:30pm by the ballroom foyer. Conference check-in will include picking up you badge and lanyard, as well as your registration gift. Because of the large number of attendees at this conference we ask for your patience with the process. You are more than welcome to grab your badge from the table. Please note that the registration gift is limited to one (1) per conference attendee.

Conference check-in and badge pickup will also be available through the remainder of the conference from 8:30am - 5:00pm on Monday and Tuesday and until 10:00am on Wednesday.
Opening Reception, Dinner, & Poster Sessions
6:00pm - 10:00pm
The opening ceremony evening will open with a reception beginning at 5pm. Dinner will begin at approximately 6:00pm, followed by our traditional opening evening poster session discussions over coffee and dessert.

We have an incredible 87 posters being presented, so you can imagine the logistics of it all! With so many posters and attendees at the conference, we strongly encourage all to partake in the poster session experience. Grab your coffee and make your way around the room to discuss research with all of our wonderful authors!

Poster Presenters: We're still working on some of the logistics with our hotel and will update everyone as to the process once finalized. Posters will be set up after dinner concludes and the announcement is made that we're moving into the poster sessions. Presenters that are bringing hard boards would do best to utilize the round tables, while thinner posters are slated to be hung. Posters will be setup at approximately 7:30pm. Recommendation: Add a QR code to your poster regarding your research and/or contact information. This will allow attendees to follow-up on your work!

For those still looking to print their posters locally, we recommend looking into two nearby printers (IACM has not used these printers, but each is highly rated):

Magenta Print: https://magentaprint.gr/ (Magenta print is open on Saturday until 2:30pm)
Bee Print: https://www.beeprint.gr/en/ (Note that Bee Print is closed on the weekend)
More Conference Information to Come Shortly...
