It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Illinois Alliance for Clean Transportation friend and board member, Thomas (Tom) Thompson. Tom passed away on Thursday, January 19. He had been a valued member of our team at IACT (formerly Chicago Area Clean Cities) for many years and will be greatly missed.

Until retiring in 2018, Tom was the fleet manager for the Forest Preserve District of Cook County and an active stakeholder of our coalition, sharing lessons learned with his peers by speaking at and hosting events at the Forest Preserves. As a board member since 2016, Tom assisted with numerous IACT events, including clean air and clean fuels awareness days at the state capitol in Springfield, volunteering at the EV ride and drive at the Chicago Auto Show, assisting with the Clean Cities Day at the 2020 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, assisting with the annual Green Drives Conferences and many educational seminars, just to name a handful of countless contributions to the coalition. Whenever volunteers were needed to execute a program, Tom was always willing to help.

Tom was a hard worker and we will all miss his positivity and generous spirit. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time.
