We are also pleased to offer a curated list of definitions for inclusion, access, equity and diversity (IAED), now available for download on our IAED resources page.


Finally, we encourage you to share your IAED expertise at this year's ACTE's CareerTech VISION, happening Nov. 29–Dec. 2 in Phoenix, Arizona. The deadline to submit session proposals is March 3.

IAED Mentorship Program 2023 Cohort Applications & Celebrating the 2022 Cohort at VISION


ACTE continues to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports and celebrates the diversity of the CTE community. The IAED Mentorship Program is a one-year program with mentor and mentee opportunities, open to any ACTE member interested in conversations surrounding IAED in CTE and growing a more inclusive space. The 2022 IAED Mentorship cohort convened at CareerTech VISION 2022, which happened Nov. 30Dec. 3, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Participants networked at the IAED Reception, sponsored by Itopia, and participated in specific sessions focused on IAED issues, learned more about CTE initiatives and engaged in conversations with the national network of CTE professionals. ACTE is thankful for the 2022 cohort and looks forward to the continued growth of this program.

ACTE was excited to host 20+ sessions focused on IAED in CTE at VISION 2022 and an all-new Mega Session, CTE Serves All Learners, which covered strategies ensuring that high-quality CTE programs are accessible to all students and include diverse social-cultural perspectives while providing equitable learning experiences.

A Deep Dive into Perkins V Enrollment and Performance Data

In October, the U.S. Department of Education released data from states’ Consolidated Annual Report submissions for program year 2020-21 – the first year that states reported performance data under Perkins V. The dataset includes CTE participant numbers, CTE concentrator numbers and CTE concentrator performance on Perkins accountability indicators, including the secondary program quality indicators new under Perkins V, disaggregated by race, general and special population groups. Increasing Equity in Postsecondary Education

Inclusive CTE Goal-setting Tool

In 2022, ACTE contributed to the development of a new data tool focused on helping CTE leaders set goals to increase the representativeness of their systems to better reflect the communities in which they are situated. Advance CTE’s Achieving Inclusive CTE Goal-setting Tool helps leaders more intentionally plan to recruit, engage and support underrepresented learner groups to increase access to high-quality CTE programs and career pathways. This resource was produced with the support of the New Skills ready network, launched by JPMorgan Chase & Co. in 2020 in partnership with Advance CTE and Education Strategy Group. Read more

Equity Framework Webinar


Join the CTE Research Network for a free webinar on Feb. 21 at 3:00 p.m. EST on their new Equity Framework for CTE Research. Members of the Equity in CTE Workgroup will introduce the framework and provide a high-level overview and examples of the six research stages covered. The webinar will also describe the related checklist and thematic overview for the framework.

Courageous Conversations on IAED in CTE

This webinar series offers practical examples and strategies for supporting variability in CTE.
