The Iowa Hospital Association and the Iowa Academy of Family Physicians have come together once again to provide a physician business leadership certificate program for Iowa physicians, supporting them in advancing both their leadership competencies and business acumen. Sessions in this four-day program will focus on foundational leadership skills, equipping providers for the ever-changing health care environment, and hot topics that providers will face.

Care of Women- KSA Working Group

Easily fulfill the 60-question Knowledge Self-Assessment (KSA), formerly SAM, with this one-day session that meets your ABFM’s Family Medicine Certification Self-Assessment Activities requirement.

  • Review 60 core competency questions with experienced family physician faculty, and decide the best answer with your colleagues.
  • The IAFP reports your answers directly to the ABFM on your behalf.

The AAFP has reviewed KSA- Care of Women and deemed it acceptable for up to 8.00 Knowledge Self-Assessment, Live AAFP Prescribed credit(s). Term of Approval is from 04/30/2025 to 04/30/2025. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Meet Your State Mandated CME Requirement:

End of Life Care Course Available On-Demand

Need state mandated CME? IAFP is offering an on-demand state mandated CME course on End of Life Care. See below for more information and registration.


Iowa-licensed physicians are required to complete 2 hours of Category 1 credits for end-of-life care every five years. These requirements became effective August 17, 2011, are for physicians who provide primary care to patients (e.g., emergency physicians, family physicians, general practice physicians, internists, neurologists, pain medicine specialists, and psychiatrists.)
