Applications Open for Iowa Health Care Professional Incentive Program

Kim Reynolds, alongside the Iowa Department of Education and Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, has launched the new Health Care Professional Incentive Program to recruit and retain providers in high-need Iowa counties. Backed by an $8 million state investment in its first year, the program offers income bonuses or federal student loan repayment in exchange for up to five years of full-time (or seven years of part-time) service in underserved communities.

Eligible professionals include physicians, PAs, NPs, RNs, therapists, licensed professional counselors, nurse educators, and certain mental health social workers who practice in one of 36 designated counties. The program streamlines five previous state incentive programs into one and is open to applicants who have not previously received funding through those initiatives.

The application deadline is March 31. For full eligibility details and to apply, visit the Iowa Department of Education’s website.
