Spring 2020 Newsletter
From the President’s Desk…
Hello fellow New England insights and data professionals,

In more normal times, I would be taking this opportunity to tell you about all the great events that the Insights Association, New England Chapter has planned for 2020. We do not, however, find ourselves living in anywhere near normal times and the rapidly unfolding COVID-19 pandemic is forcing us to make substantial adjustments to our programs and operations, just as each of us are making radical changes in our personal and professional lives to stay safe.

The marquee event of the year is typically our Spring Conference, and our team of volunteers has been hard at work pulling together a fantastic line-up of speakers. We have, however, postponed this event from May 12th to September 3rd. You can read more about what we have in store in this newsletter.

Similarly, we have postponed our planned joint event with WIRe, "New Perspectives on the Future of Insights”, from April 1st to a date and place to be determined.

We are also actively exploring the possibility of shifting our Research Rendezvous meetings from in-person networking meet-ups to interactive virtual events.

We will, of course, continue to monitor this rapidly evolving situation and make further adjustments as necessary, keeping the health and safety of our members and volunteers paramount.

Our chapter’s mission remains to “inspire your professional life through connection & education” and, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our members and volunteers, I am confident that we will adapt and fulfill that mission. To that end, I would like to invite you to take a brief survey  so that we might gather your input and thoughts on how we can best sustain our community during these challenging times.

Thank you, stay healthy everyone!

Kind Regards,

Andrew Peach
President

Impact: Innovate Conference 2020 Update
The Impact: Innovate Conference has been postponed until September 3, 2020 . Our theme will be focused on innovation in our industry so we will be appropriately celebrating at District Hall, in the heart of Boston’s Innovation District. District Hall is not only a spectacular venue for events, but it is also the world’s first free-standing public innovation center.

Here is a taste of what you can expect from our great speakers:

  • Annie Corbett, Sarah Drury, and Greg Roble of DraftKings will share how they’ve innovated on the way they build products to better delight sports fans;

  • Jacob Finch at SharkNinja and Rich Armstrong at My-Take will discuss how they accurately predict winners and losers in the product development process;

  • Rob Volpe of Ignite 360 promises a lively presentation on the dark side of innovation;

  • Kathryn Korostoff at Research Rockstar will give an overview of the current methodologies every market research professional should know;

  • Patricia Montesdeoca of Zappi will share her perspective on how innovation requires transforming the way you approach consumers, brands, and research;

You can expect a day full of inspiring speakers, topics and networking opportunities. A special thanks to our annual sponsors – Prodege, InCrowd, and Dynata – for making this event possible. We look forward to seeing you in September!
IANE Winter Party

We held our annual Winter Party on January 29th at the Central Wharf Co. in downtown Boston. It was a crowded event complete with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and group trivia challenge with prizes.

We were also happy to welcome a number of new IANE event attendees. A big thank you to all of those involved in running the event!
